I probably wouldn't dislike most small dogs if the people who owned them actually bothered to train and socialize them properly. It's "cute" and "funny" to them when their little chihuahua is snarling and lunging at things but if a rottie so much as looks at them, they shit their pants. Where I live, everyone with medium-large dogs walks them off-lead away from busy streets. None of the small dogs can walk off-lead and are foamy, spazzy, and so angry.

Chihuahuas can never compete with that, but if we take the only dangerous dog out of the competition, then chihuahuas are the most fragile, retarded, yappy, worthless dogs, with among the worst attitudes and owned by the second worst group of people.

They don't do any work at all because they're good at absolutely nothing, but they've been bred by such retards that the modern chihuahua isn't even a good companionship dog. i had Chihuahuas growing up, the deer head kind. they were cool little dogs. they tolerate the Florida heat very well, they fit in a bicycle basket so they can go with you on rides, they don't shed a lot, and they eat like a quarter cup of kibble a day.

they need to be trained like any other dog. im thinking of getting a second dog (have a border collie) and im trying to pick a breed. im considering Chihuahua, toy poodle, or Coton de Tulear.

My chihuahua usually sleeps in the garage so i let him in there a few minutes ago forgetting that i had placed a few mouse traps in there. the dog is still relatively young and has testicles the size of tennis balls. I mean they are bigger htan his head. Apparently he was dragging those monsters to close to a trap and it snapped right on his nuts. He's really angry right now and won't let me get close enough to help. He already bit me really hard and im bleeding pretty bad. I tried shooting him with a horse tranquilizer dart but I missed and it blew out one of my car's tires, so i can't drive to hte vet or anything. My plan right now is to have my 4 yr old approach it from the front to distract the dog while i sneek up behind him and club him with a tire iron. does anybody else have a better idea?

Anyone ever had problems with chihuahuas being picky assholes? Mine used to eat normally but now he barely eats anything. He won't eat any dry food no matter the brand and when I feed him soft food he just sniffs his bowl, leaves and let himself starve to death until he's in borderline hypoglycemia. Sometimes I get a new flavor and he licks the bowl clean but he stops eating it after a few days and the rest is wasted, he won't even eat treats, only very specific brands. I'm scared that he's not getting enough nutrition since he basically only eat a few bites once or twice a day even tho the vet say he's healthy?

They're fine, I also brush them daily. I'm pretty sure it's only because he's picky since when I make food for myself, he starts begging for it and stares at me like a creep while I eat. Note that I don't give him human food not to encourage that kind of behavior
