Its bad because it contains land animal protiens and fats. Which is very different to aquatic/marine fats and proteins. This is why you find foods that contain less land animal contents and more marine protein. Also land animals tend to have a higher fat to protein ratio, so your fish can develop bloat or some kind of intestinal blockage. So all in all you can technically get away with feeding human sperm for a short duration. But over a long period of time it wouod cause nutritional failures in your fish due to their inability to properly absorb nutrients from land animals.


Also you must be pretty fucked up if you cant just drop a chunk of blanched veggies. Also guppies tend to eat algae, so you can actually leave your lights on and grow some, they will nibble on that in between feedings. Also if you must have land animal products just put a piece of hard boiled egg yolk in there. That will get them through the hard times.

There's plenty ways to collect insects to feed your fish, earthworms chopped up often even bring fish into breeding mode. Maggots are very easy to farm if your fish are large enough, so are fruit fly if they are small, if you have a garden a water container can easily be used to farm daphnia the shrimps you can buy as live food in pet shops. All are far more sustainable than pet food, and I'm sure the diseases my tropical fish used to get occasionaly where from the food as they had no problems since switching to fresh or live food but it may be as simple as their life enjoyment improved once being able to hunt.
