Hey guys, total gun virgin here. I want to protect my family but don't want to part with a lot of shekels. What's a simple home defense weapon on a budget?

Remington 870. 12 gauge pump shotgun. Perfect home defense gun, and will only set you back around 3-400 bucks.

I got a mossberg maverick 88 for $200 brand new after tax. It's a 12 gauge and holds 5+1. Seems hard to do better than a shotty for home defense.
