>>
I personally stay the fuck away from /soc/ and /lgbt/. Also /v/ because it's full of underage users and you can't really have a conversation there.
>>
/fit/ is amazing if you want positive reinforcement.
There are some wholesome anons there.
Pol, r9k, b, are definitely ones that will fuck you up.
>>
/pol/ is by far the most cancerous board on this site. It used to be a mishmash of classic liberalists, conservatives, libertarians and centrists and the alt right was laughed away. All the intelligence seems to have been vacuumed away. Back in the day i'd leave every thread more informed than before and have good debate and banter. Have you fucking seen the state of it now ? The decline of /pol/ was truly a tragedy.
Also r9k, gif(wtf happened there too ?), biz, n + v
>>
>>18579469
gif and pol are hand in hand. There's little moderation so its just a bunch of children screaming while masturbating together.
>>
>>18579469
>>18579478

/pol/ is more active than /b/ is many days. It has its own server hosting while most of the site shares. The traffic it gets is insane.

That being said, its politically incorrect. What do you expect? People are going to voice unpopular opinions. People are going to go with the crowd because people are lemmings and follow and thats just human nature. You also have to remember that due to the nature of things discussed there, intelligence agencies and other organizations with their fingers in the pie spend a lot of resources misdirecting and shitting up the place.

Its sorta a shithole now, in the sense you have to dig to find threads that arnt pure /b/ tier bait/slide attempts. But its still relevant. /pol/ helped prevent clinton from being elected, memed trump into office, exposed a fuckload of corruption globally, even used their autistic superpowers to track down the location of ISIS fighters in syria using geographical landmarks and google earth imagery and got them bombed to death by the russian airforce. As fucking dumb as that board can be - its still a force to be reckoned with and theres a lot of good people there. You just have to put in a lot of effort skimming through rivers of cesspool overflow.

All that being said /soc/ is pretty cancerous, its a NEET circlejerk.
>>
>>18579519
pol did NOT help trump get elected. Clinton being a terrible corrupt candidate with virtually no policies sure did though.
>>
>>18579332
I don't know what you're talking about /trash/ is filled to the brim with furfags and other /trash/-tier threads and yet it is by far THE most kino and wholesome board on the whole site.
>>
>>18579523

And who went on an autistic crusade to highlight that fact? More people voted for clinton than for trump. She almost won. Im not saying /pol/ singlehandedly did it, but they were absolutely 100% instrumental in getting trump into office.

Social media has a massive impact on peoples lives and their opinions of things. /pol/ was the most organized collective of people who actively shilled social media in favor of trump and against clinton. Where do you think all the memes came from? Obviously this effect is not very strong in the baby boomer generation, as they rely on MSM for their opinions - but for everyone younger, the internet is their main sorce of info. If you think /pol/ doesnt have an active role in modern geopolitics youre naive. Whether that role is good or bad, and just how big that role is - are both debatable. But its on the map and cannot be ignored. I mean shit, remember ron paul? They almost got him the republican primary - and that was with next to zero media coverage. He even WON the iowa caucus, but that wasnt announced until months after the fact.

Once again much of /pol/ are useful idiots. But youll find that anywhere. The average IQ is 100 and thats not exactly bright. But that doesnt mean pol hasnt had an inpact over the last decade.
>>
>>18579539
/pol/ really doesn't have as much clout as it thinks. Intelligence agencies operate across the entirety of the internet, I highly doubt they give two shits about the autistic sperging of deplorable man children who support fascist dictatorships. /pol/ idolizes Putin, a man who murders any independent journalist brave enough to print a word against him, who launders state money and rigs elections (I'm talking about the Crimea referendum you fucks.) /pol/ is irrelevant and a huge percentage of its user base aren't even old enough to vote. If anything posted is proven to be false (eg. the muslim no go areas in the UK that totally exist btw) they'll try to pretend its some grand Jewish conspiracy. Utterly deluded mongoloids who can't keep to their fucking containment board
>>
>>18579325
You don't go to /v/ then. If you like retro shit then go to /vr/. Seems decent enough
>>
>>18579590

>i highly doubt they give 2 shits

Opinion disregarded, into the trash it goes. There is literally not a single more active and problematic website on the entire surface web than /pol/. Of fucking course intelligence agencies have a hate boner for it. Its the most active forum for free speech in existance.

Like it or not, /pol/ is yuge. Its not going away - its only growing in power. Never underestimate the power of thousands of bored people with no jobs or anything else productive to do - they do it for free.

Btw UK does have a "refugee" problem, at least London does. Having been there and nearly jumped for going down the wrong street at night I speak from experience.
>>
>>18579608
>yuge
kök
>>
>>18578578
/vp/ has a visibly higher density of children

[r9k] is kind of like a good /b/, or at least it used to be, now its just >tfw no gf >fuck gays >how about those shitskins

/b/ is self explanatory, that and /pol/ have significantly more normals and redditors shitting up the place, [r9k] as well to a lesser extent

/v/ is extremely fast, not worth the time, and video games are gay, go to /vg/ if you really want to talk about em

this whole place kinda sucks its more about which ones are worth your time, for instance /int/ is a good board but kind of slow and unfocused
>>
>>18579608
Well I live in one of the "muslim no go zones" there's barely any muslims here just a shit tonne of Koreans. Its in the metropolitan area so yeah nice anecdote there kiddo
>>
>>18579325
I saw this as someone who used to spend nearly every waking moment there until about a year or so ago. /v/ is shit do not go there it's nothing but people spamming the same flamebait for days if not weeks sometimes even months and very rarely years. It's like a never ending time loop of pure shit and with /tv/ and /pol/ now going there to dump their crap it's gotten even worse.
>>
>>18579608
Im not ur reply anon but lately here in adv i see at least 2 pol bait threads everyday. Fucking poltards. And no one cared about them before trump or the shia labeuf thing which gave them a huge influx of new fodder and popularity. I checked it out and ur right it's a cesspool. I just have not been there enough time to see if there are hidden gems worth swimming in shit for.

>>
>>18578870
I did it the opposite way

How come no one likes pol?
>>
>>18579590
My mom, a boomer, found pol during the election.

More than you know probably visit, but who would say they do? It's trash but I prefer it to msm
>>
>>18579741

Idk what youre talking about. Idk where you live or how its labeled or whatever. I was in london for a week last year and the only problems i had were with "refugees". Whether or not they were in some designated neighborhood doesnt matter, i really wouldnt know because i have no idea what neighborhood i was in. I experienced similar hostility in brussels and paris and to a very small extent manchester. Always from "refugees".

I just dont see the value of importing foreigners who have a dying hatred for you and have no desire to intergrate into society.
>>
>>18579752
Most sensible answer.
>>
>>18579925
There's no value importing foreigners at all.
>>
>>18579891

People there are extremely opinionated and have views that challenge the mainstream head on. Much of what is posted and discussed there is entirely incompatible with what the bulk of society believes - meaning if you belong to the bulk of society, youd think /pol/ is a raging den of autistic loonies. Thats not true though. Theyre just a raging den of autists; most of what is discussed is factual and true which is very distrubing to someone who doesnt want their whole world view shattered.

One massive problem is the amount of shilling and slide threads; stuff like flat earth theory, cuck this and cuck that, religion btfo threads, just pure bait - people see almost nothing but the slide threads, and they are just a total shit throwing contest. Maybe 5% of the threads on /pol/ are of any meaningful significance and quality. The rest are made by bots and disinformation agents of various intelligence agencies working for various interests.

Again its the single largest forum of free speech on the planet. Think of how significant that is. Practically nothing is censored there (aside from cp and shit like that). Theres no other place that compares. Places like reddit are censored and heavily moderated so not everything is acceptable to discuss, thus meaning free speech doesnt exist there. Theres also the problem of up/downvote manipulation with bot nets and sock puppet accounts. /pol/ works because no post is weighted for better or worse based on likes - it all has the same visibility, and can be judged on content rather than popularity. The fact its all anonymous also means people can discuss /POLITICALLY INCORRECT/ topics freely without having their personal character attacked and stigmatized.

In a nutshell /pol/ is the largest bastion of free speech on the internet. We all need to remember not all free speech is good speech. But its important we all can speak our minds anyways, even if your opinions are shit.
>>
>>18579539
>they were absolutely 100% instrumental in getting trump into office.

This is not even remotely close to being true.
>>
>>18579996

Do you live under a rock? It absolutely was. /pol/tards are the ones who spent autistic amounts of effort digging through data and doing research to dig up dirt on opponents of trump and put it on blast. Its practically confirmed that steve bannon, trumps chief campaign strategist, was a /pol/tard.

Do you have anything to share? Or are you just going to say "nuh uh" and leavd it at that with nothing of substance to back your arguement?
>>
In my personal opinion:
/b/
/gif/
/hc/
/r9k/

Those boards are just gross.

I'm 100% with >>18579980

If you don't have snowflake complex like >>18579539 /pol/ can be pretty entertainment and give you some perspective from several political sides(and good laughs too).
>>
>>18578578
/pol/
/r9k/
/asp/
/v/
>>
>>18580084

Amusing because i wrote both of those posts ;^))))

As far as getting the most accurate picture of whats going on in the world, /pol/ is the single best website to visit. Those fuckers will argue about ANYTHING. Everything you know should be challenged. As fucking retarded as they are, even the flat earth threads are ok because they make you question something you "know" to be true (ie the earth is round) - even though in the end knowing the earth is round isnt bad because it can be proven by several magnitudes of observable science and mathematical formulas. The point is for ANY point or fact you post, no matter how commonly accepted, you are subject to ridicule until you can prove it to be undeniably true using logical arguements. If your arguement has flaws, someone will come along and put it on blast and challenge your beliefs. Its up to you to defend them.

Thats what makes /pol/ great. At the end of the day i think the average /pol/tard just doesnt like bullshit and wants to get to the bottom of things and see the world for what it truly is rather than what they are told it is.
>>
>>18579980
I mean if you spend even the smallest amount of time lurking on /pol/ you can pick out the shills and trolls though.

also, /pol/ legit is it's own intelligence agency now and has called in airstrikes before. anyone that tells you that /pol/ is just a bunch of autistic loonies is someone that has seen the power wielded and is scared and doesn't want you to go there and get redpilled.

>>18579996
you're retarded. we almost got le pen in france too but we started like days before with getting those emails out and no one spoke french and the ones that did were legit surrender monkeys that didn't want to put in the effort to save their country.

>>18580011
checking these double dubs.
>>
>>18578578
OMG WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS PICTURE FUCK OFF

Also, I avoid /r9k/, /pol/, /a/, /int/, /v/, /soc/, /news/, and of course /b/.
>>
>>18580211
Well, i can agree with this, some people say that /pol/ is filled with delusional nazis, that's just not true, i browse /pol/ whenever some big event is happening and i see people arguing all the fucking time about everything, from various political ideologies, is not like the place is made only by Hitler worshipers, there are trolls, of course, but they aren't exclusively nazi only.

The problem is that people with mainstream mindset can't deal with diferent opinions, they go like "how can you browse a board who has Trump supporters?! this just unacceptable!", when you have freedom of speech, you're obviously going to hear/read something you dislike or don't agree with, and that is a wonderful thing t b h.

Its hard for an outsider to tell whos trolling, who is serious, who is a bot, who is a shill, who is simply retarded, who is pretending to be retarded to troll... its a shitshow. The trolling especially, from shills to real posters alike, has so many layers of meta and "insider" memes that are board culture that an outsider brand new to /pol/ (and especially to 4chan in general) wouldnt have any clue wtf they are looking at. Its all ultra fast paced as well - /pol/ has more traffic than fucking /b/ these days which is absolutely nuts to think about.

There was an UN funded research group that spent months studying /pol/. They couldnt figure out what the fuck was going on. They hyperanalyzed everything, and did a good job at breaking down how the site works, how certain trends go.. but things like why people worship certain posts for getting digits, or the whole pepe meme - it completely baffled them. They even began collecting "rare pepes" because they thought they had some sort of hidden significance.
>pic related

Point is: /pol/ is a clusterfuck unless you are fluent in the basic shitposting culture of 4chan. Even if you do browse, you have to spend months to actually understand whats going on, what subjects are slide threads and what are serious, how to spot shills and bots and not fall for bait threads. Its extremely easy for someone to take a glance and say "fuck this shit" because its too overwhelming for them to figure out.

And then you have people like us, who can swim through the river of shitposting like an indian swims in the toxic corpse ridden Ganges river. Its effortless. We enjoy it even. I truly believe /pol/ will go down in history as having a huge impact on internet culture and by extension global society. Its a fascinating place no matter what you believe.
>>
>>18580258

Not the poster im responding to but heres the sauce on the time /syria general/ aka /pol/ located an ISIS trainijg camp and got it bombed by the Russian airforce.

This is the type of shit that trained military intelligence conducts. Men are trained for years to analyze data and comb satelite imagery to locate positions they are searching for. A bunch of autists in their moms basement manage to do it AND THEY DID IT FOR FREE. Its amazing what a powerful motivator sheer boredom can be.

Basically. Except instead of monkeys, its a bunch of semi-intelligent autists. The collective power of these tens of thousands of people is extraordinary. Thats why you see so much shilling on /pol/ - its recognized as being an extremely useful group to use as a tool for whatever objective you are hoping to accomplish - so different forces with different interests compete to harness their power to work in their favor.

The danger is that since /pol/ isnt monkeys and is instead autists, that trying to trick them into doing your bidding can backfire horrendously if they find out they are being used. All it takes is one autist to point out whats happening and then the whole pack shifts its attention towards fucking their shit up.

/r9k/ is more dangerous than /pol/

/pol/ will give you memes and warp your mind but it's like alcohol. A little bit of it actually is good for you because it lowers your inhibitions and changes the way you look at things, get too much and you end up a reject and addicted to it, unable to live without your dose.
The great things about /pol/ is that this is where the autism gets weaponized and where you will find people that can explain shit to you better than any MSM can, because it is a hivemind.
Stuff I learnt from /pol/
>actual Syrians talking about the war
>Brit veteran that went in the YPG foreign branch army AMA
>priest that does an AMA every now and then
>stopped being a fedora even if I am still not a Christian, realize a lot of atheist arguments are retarded too
>questioned the left axiom of "diversity is good"
>learnt a lot on the Frankfurt school and Marx because at some point you want to read for yourself what it is about
>opened my eyes to the underlying message constantly present in MSM
>realized how corrupt our news services have become
The bad thing about /pol/ is that it normalizes racism and white supremacy, you stop reacting to it.

R9k on the other hand was a place I went back when I was depressed and it made things worse because it normalizes being a failure and depressed. Everyone there has issues and problems and you start to think that those are just part of who you are and you are meant to be a failure. Not exactly good.

Those two places also have the most toxic view of how relationships work. Disregard everything you learn from there on that subject.
>>
>>18581665
>The bad thing about /pol/ is that it normalizes racism and white supremacy, you stop reacting to it.
This is called the redpill, you can't fight against it, why even react?!
>>
>>18582357
That's not accurate of pol or redpill.

redpill is like 'this is what really exists, and this is why you choose to believe convenient lies'.

pol is like 'god niggers suck (lowkey kidding/trolling), but also media and governments are shit.'
>>
>>18582368
>god niggers suck (lowkey kidding/trolling), but also media and governments are shit.
This is an completely accurate statement and i doubt you can prove otherwise.
>>
>>18578866
No they're not. That's just what they tell newfags so they end up stupid.
>>
Depends what you're looking for.
I'll advocate for /b/ and /pol/ because sometimes there are good discussions (less so on /b/) and decent YLYL threads.

/gif/ can be annoying because of the raging debates that always break out over the "are traps gay" topic.

/r9k/ is alright if you take it with a pound of salt. They still have the best greentext stories however, hands down, which are very cathartic when you're having a bad day.

/soc/ is just banal.
