I know why I'm depressed and not where I want to be. I'm not healthy and I need to lose weight. I don't have the energy I used to have. So I decided to buy a gym membership 2 days ago and schedule for a trainer, because I want to be able to eat right and work out on my own. I think it will be very healthy and therapudic for me to gain my confidence back.

But most importantly, I've become self conscious about myself to the point where I'm a hermit. I'm so embarrassed with how I look and half the summer is already over. Didn't really go out, nor did I dare try to go on dates.

My first session is Saturday morning and while I was excited to begin, I'm so nervous because I need to change my entire rhythm.

Anyone have good insight or links or something to supplement what I'm trying to say? Or speak to their own experiences?

Be like Nike and just do it.

>lose weight
>buy gym membership
Everytime. Losing weight is about DIET.

Gym is about ogling gym bunnies and gaining muscles.

>>>/fit/ sticky, counting calories is where the magic is at.
Try swimming instead.

>Losing weight is about DIET.
wrong.
it's about both.
i tried counting calories,
failed with no weight loss even though i should have lost 10 pounds.
i tried swimming,
failed with no weight loss either.
i tried going both at the same time, diet + a little exercise, and i lost the 10 pounds in a month.
the correct answer is doing both.

Did you just give up once the hunger showed up? Because that is how you know it is working. And first change may show after ~2 weeks. Your body can retain water and do other fun stuff.

Or you just simply underestimated the weight of portions. 100g is almost nothing and when it is chocolade, it is 600kcal as nothing.

Simply put i dont believe you.
>you can do cardio 4 hours each day and not lose a single pound
But eat less than your TDEE and YOU WILL LOSE weight (if you are fat fuck, it will be mainly fat only).

Gym will get you nowhere (except getting muscles) in terms of stopping being fat ass. It is like 90% diet, 9% sport and 1% dna. You cant be fat without enough food.

Just google how many kcal will get burned by 1 hour intense swimming
http://www.active.com/triathlon/articles/how-many-calories-does-swimming-burn
It is less than one chocolade bar.

Cutting food is much more easier than to make yourself swim fast for 2 hours.

every night when i'm sleeping, i sleep myself in hunger.
don't tell me what your theories are.
the fact is i din't lose weight on diet,
din't lose weight on exercise (not whole day exercise),
but only lose weight when i did both together.

I bet you were just impatient. The change is very slow and recommended speed is 1~2 pounds per week and water retention is real.

Persistence and patience is the key :-)
>be careful of body dismorphia
I lost 30kg and still saw myself as fat fuck after. Once you hit 20bmi, STOP. Anorexia is very ugly thing.

OP here

I want to do 2 pounds a week. Persistence and patience is something I want to implement into my routine.
