Hi /adv! I'm from Costa Rica and want to move to Canada.
How much taxes do canadians pay on their income?
How much does a cheap apartment cost?
Do you know any cool immigrant stories?
Thanks!
Fuck off.
I heard a cool story where a bean boy was dragged behind a pick up truck for 3km.
we have some of the highest costs in the world for internet, mobile data, car insurance, housing, and energy
you will likely have to wait months for glorious 'free' health procedures
other than that it's okay I guess, as long as you don't go outside and get forced hormonal injections from the privilege police for not using someone's preferred pronouns
oh, it's also cold as fuck. like you will literally die if you are stuck outside somewhere unprepared.

I don't really have any answers to your questions, but the cost of a place to live will depend where you are. Vancouver and the GTA are obscenely expensive. I wish you the best of luck.

Canadian citizenship is damn near impossible. Good luck.

>How much taxes do canadians pay on their income?
It varies by your income. The more you earn the more you pay. http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/ndvdls/fq/txrts-eng.html
>How much does a cheap apartment cost?\
Depends on the city. In Vancouver/Toronto you'll be paying $1600 for a 1 bedroom apartment. In Saskatoon you can find the same for $500, and for $1600 you can find a 4 bedroom house.
>Do you know any cool immigrant stories?
I don't think there's such a thing as a cool immigrant story. Usually people face a lot of hardship initially but then their lives improve to the point where they're almost like people born in Canada. I moved to Canada when I was 9 years old. I'm 30 now and I feel like I'm half Canadian. It's an awesome country but at the same time I feel like I should have left it to travel 5 years ago. Canada is a bit of a nanny state, there's a lot of rules and laws preventing you from having fun. At the same time it's such a stable and peaceful country that people don't know any better, especially since the media constantly says how shit everywhere else is (propaganda in Canada? you betcha).
I'll give you one pointer. If you want a good life in Canada you will need to get educated there. Spend a few years living super poor but get whatever diploma/degree/qualification you can get your hands on because then your life will be very easy. If you just come over and work shitty jobs you'll be working shit jobs for your whole life. The sacrifice is worth it in the long term.

Thanks for the comment! Canada seems a very legit place to work and live in desu.
I'll broaden my options and look into the requirements for a work permit in Mexico and a green card for the United States.
