Why are people so amazed by this? The art is solid, and yes, there is an actual nearly complete path, but it plays almost exactly like an Akabur game clone.

I can tell you, after the third time I killed the stupid, fucking moose, I was tired of doing it. The gameplay for corruption was simply select the next option on the list until you got 2/3, then go further. The dialogue had some witty portions, just like an Akabur game, so that was a plus.

Ultimately though, I'd say it is a good game with quite fappable artwork and scenes. Yet, as far as gameplay goes, it has very limited gameplay that would never really warrant playing through it more than once.

As I write this I realize I'm in /weg/ and it is a western game. Okay, in that sense, it is amazing.

Thanks for the responses. I guess my surprise was that in following /weg/ over the past year or so, I've seen quite a few complaints about grindy games. This is a pretty grindy game when you really look at it. So, I was a bit surprised by just how excited people were.

Still, I agree that kudos to this guy for actually fucking releasing something with real content right off. That is pretty awesome in the Patreon market. So, in that regard, I can see the excitement in just getting a new, unexpected game to play. I think over time though, the flaws will become a bit more apparent, and I hope it becomes a bit more of a "game" as it develops.

As for remedies, well the "battle" system is superfluous. What is the point in having you fight a moose over and over. They could have simply put a hunting button where you hunted like mining, without the time wasting.

The excitement in corruption is also limited by the night "list" that tells you basically everything you're going to have her do from the onset. It limits the excitement that would come from discovering things. At a minimum, put "???" or something on the list so you unlock them as you go.

The game also suffers from a lack of meaningful decisions. It is simply a VN with a scavenger hunt aspect of finding the right area to click. It would benefit from adding meaningful decisions to influence things. Hell, when Katara is mad at you, when you go to training, she can be cheery. That disconnect is odd.

I understand tastes are subjective and this game is definitely not "shit." I never said it was.

No one is disputing that, I don't think.

The problem isn't that people want to make H-games, the more the better. And there's no problem lifting good ideas from other games. Akabur himself mentions copying many things from the Japanese H-games he's played to put in PT and WT.

The problem comes when people copy Akabur's work 1 to 1. Call it a genre, call them "trainer" games, whatever. But reusing his sound effects, dialog, and characters, isn't participating in a 'genre.' That's just copying, like tracing.

Akabur was inspired by Japanese hgames where the male MC dominates women with sex, so he made his variation of that. These new guys aren't being "inspired" so much as "literally copying and pasting."
