If it is, they could find out about us through simple exploration. Send a few FTL science probes, tell them to visit several stars, collect data, come back home. Once they analize the data they can simply launch an expedition to meet us. If they feel they need or want to that is.


If FTL is not possible, or possible but not until you reach such a high level in the Kardashev scale that you are pretty much a god to lesser races, then the reality starts to look grim for xenofuckers.

I'm also guessing that the devs and art dept thought that they should make quarians look more like humans since they decided to make Tali a romance option, if they had only known that a LOT of people would not have been repelled but pleased as hell if they could have seen something way more alien than that, hell even the Asari look more exotic.

Not even then, because the only male alien romance options was for the drell and turaian without any real sexual moments like you got with mShep and any of the aliens. The drell are still pretty much green people and for Garrus, the most you got was them touching heads and cuddling on the bed. It's like, if the character's look is too alien, then they don't even want to try making any sexual encounter besides alluding to it through dialogue.

Why the fuck couldn't Shepard try romancing with a Krogan? I mean, I can see why Grunt's case can be a little weird because he's technically young, but why not Wrex? It's not like he was bound to wed the female krogan from ME3, considering that plot line wasn't hinted at until the third game, and the fact that they could easily have paired her off with the other krogan that takes over the urdnot clan if Wrex did die. Hell, the black dude ends up leaving Shepard in ME3, even if you romanced him before, so why the fuck not let Shepard get a taste of them quads?

Mass Effect is a fucking shit series and I can't believe I let myself get invested in that fucking mess. Fuck EA and Fuck Bioware, I would have much rather fucked aliens than get fucked by corporate bullshit.

The late 00's to early 10's was when a lot of companies sank back into the AAA / money-printing business, and with no major company / platform crashes to shake things up we've been stuck in the rut a bit longer than usual.

It probably doesn't help that a lot of fan communities online these days are toxic as all fuck. Just take a look at the Warframe community: It bitched incessantly at Digital Extremes to turn the game into a cover-based shooter game where the basic enemy could kill you after only a few seconds of exposure. For a game whose advertisements featured you being a free-running magic space ninja that sliced through mooks by the dozen. Then there's Bioware and its staff receiving death threats that targeted not only them but their (unrelated to work) family and children.

"Money machine must flow" and "Shitheads drowning out the decent fans" has dried up a lot of channels of communication, unfortunately.

All of the gay relationships in ME3 are gross, stereotypical caricatures. It is upsetting how poor the quality of writing for the characters and romantic interactions are compared to most of the other routes. Basically business guys massively over valuing marketing and under valuing everything that goes into making a decent product.

Good games, movies, music, etc. have gone nearly completely unnoticed by the general public because they didn't get a lot of marketing and were drowned out by all the other things that did get proper marketing.
