All of them have differences in their "fertile" periods (humanoids have monthly cycles, insects are always fertile if fed and so on...).

After giving birth the son/daughter becomes an actor of the game (up to 5-fucking-hundred for a single playthrough), you can use it in battle like the main cast. The player characters family won't be possible for story reasons (they aren't dead or anything, but you just won't be able to get to them), but if you think about stuff like having twins I'm not opposed to that. (Actually the content I want to add for the dryads will have very strong mother and many daughters vibes, but they are plants so I didn't really think about it like that). This is my first time here. I wasn't aware there were this many games being made.

A few other people were involved in the first few brainstorming sessions when the plot outline was developed. I really wanted the game to be a group project. And yet everything that came after that I was forced to do on my own. The game was originally intended for a small audience of Krautchan regulars, so naturally I wanted to put a lot of "our" memes in it to really give it the Krautchan stamp. That direction changed a bit during the course of development as I began to despise that place more and more -- but it was never enough to make me change my mind and remove that theme entirely. The "Bernd" character still makes for an excellent modern anti-hero.

Yes UE4, I'm not at my computer right now I'll post a picture of them tomorrow, They are pretty simple the leaves have a base which is just a sculpted low poly round-ish shape, then I'm using a hair particle system to place triangles with a branch/leaf texture pointing away from the base shape and finally copy the normals from the base shape to the leaves. LODs are done by first reducing the amount of leaves and then reduing the poly count of the base shape (the difference between the fewer leaves and no leaves LOD is a bit too strong currently, might have to add another LOD between those) also the round base shape of the tree doesn't cast a shadow for the LODs with transparent leaves which gives them a nice translucent look.

That's gotta be a whole lot of tris per tree then. Impressive to see that UE4 can even run this. I was having trouble staying above 60fps on Unity with just about a dozen trees like that on screen. (I guess Shaderforge is at least partly to blame here.)
Anyway, great work. Looking forward to seeing those models in solid shading.
