It doesn't matter much to me, if it's cute then I like it.

I prefer making up my own original shit. Drawing someone else's character and doing fanart is basically the same thing to me, the only difference is the quality of the reference material (and sometimes not even that)

I also offer tf sequences!
4-panel sequences for 24 USD
6-panel sequences for 28 USD
will draw (almost) anything, including furry, futa and cuntboys, guro, watersports, shortstacks and hyper.
the only things I will not do under any circumstance is loli/shota, bestiality and scat.
for more examples of my stuff you can visit my tumblr limebeatzafterdark.tumblr.com or my furaffinity, I go under the name Limebeatz.

I can't really remember what they paid. I think it's was like 15$? Or there about. But honestly I try not to "pay grade" my sketches anyway. If it's a nice character or a fun idea I'll draw it as well as I can.

>>
>>1391016
I suppose I don't really have one, I just do whatever feels appropriate for the piece I'm working on, though if there are a few works I do without any intentional reference to other styles. This is probably the most recent one.
>>
>>1391074
Sorry for asking something that's written right there, but do you really not work on the weekends?
>>
>>1390960
I'm confused. who are you in this scenario?

>>1391061
I've done it before, but I don't think I'm very good at gore. I have a better anatomical knowledge than most, I suppose, but I also really don't like staring at it on my screen for very long.
scat's easy though. if you can draw dirt you can draw shit. it comes out kinda braided and bumpy, but you can't do it "wrong" since it can really come out any shape.

yeah the mcfarlane style is probably done by vector, plus being flash animated they're basically stills they reuse over and over. The best bet is to have someone trace it, or make the badbrains guy a really good offer lol

ihale13 on outlook and tumblr.
All the commissions I know of have involved his twink Bunnyboy OC, an antlered shapeshifting redhead OC, and/or a blue-haired succubus OC. Pic related, it's one of the two commissions he's stiffing me on.

>>1391290
Honestly, we don't know all the details yet (it might be that he's just trying to scam everyone, or maybe he was using his dad's credit card for porn and his dad found out), but the story he's given me is so full of holes that I feel like other artists deserve to be warned by now.

Currently out of $30 for this one, got the succubus. I'm not sure what else to do at this point, I already contacted paypal and emailed him all I could.

Yours looks good though, by the way! I really dig your painting style.
>>
Sucks that others are getting scammed. here's my story. My fault though.

>commission something
>tell artist if I like her image enough I'd want the rights to it
>upon hearing I was interested in the rights she more than doubled her price ($30 for regular commissions, and $75 for what I asked for)
>k whatever, other artists didn't even want to touch my commission requests since I mentioned the "rights" bullshit (literally wanted someone to design an outfit for a stripper, not for resale but was told i'd need the rights for that)
>absolutely HATED the image she pumped out
>tell her I do not wish for the rights for her image, and just to refund me the cost of the rights to it
>she is sad but understands
>never refunded me
>payed $75 for an image I hated so much I don't even have it saved

I could have filed a paypal claim but she DID put in the work, and I wanted her to get paid for that. I didn't want to snatch all her money away, that would just be a dick move on my part in that case.

The whole experience makes me regret being so transparent with what I wanted. If I was less transparent, I probably would have only been out $30. The whole experience has put me off from commissioning in general, now I just do my own work.
>>
>>1391952
He/she commissioned me for a bunch of stuff, then paid an extra 30 I never asked for.
I hit him/her up about it then I got a bunch of disputes.
I actually cleared that one, which cost me 10bucks.
Nek minnit I got disputes on every single transaction.
All were the same OCs which after doing some digging in the OC thread, turned out to be a stolen one anyway.
Dude/chick seems like a real cunt.

I saw a few comments about them not paying for sketches too.

Fuck them.

If we all contest the situation with PayPal, hopefully it should work out.

>>1392002
or you could have waited.. yknow.. seen it first
>>
>>1391976
Thanks, down $85 on my end. In total he's probably scammed 5-600 bucks of art out of people all told.

>>1392002
Honestly, someone refusing a refund seems like a perfectly reasonable use of chargebacks. Order a chargeback for your $75 and send her $30 instead.

>>1392021
> If we all contest the situation with PayPal, hopefully it should work out.
Hopefully; however, I've spoken to a few of the others and some of them are reluctant to get involved because they're afraid of running foul of paypal's "no-adult-content" policy, so make your case as strong as you can.
Personally, I'm planning to provide paypal with proof that I sent completely SFW pictures to client's email account, which should make me eligible for seller protection even if Hale's card company doesn't rule in our favor. My account's in the red anyway after the chargeback, so I've nothing to lose. If anyone else is in a similar situation, you might want to try the same thing.
>>
>>1391953
I agree about her breasts. I was copying a reference sheet and it looks like she is wearing some kind of support like a bra since she was clothed in the reference. I will try to give them a more natural feel after retopo.
>>
>>1392037
I am in the same boat as you.
PayPal in the red.

>>1392046
Yeah, I'd already moved all of my paypal money to my bank account, so when the chargeback hit it put me to -85.
I guess there's nothing stopping me from just making a new account if the chargeback gets upheld, but I'm kind of attached to this one.
>>
>>1392058
as long as they dont go like 'waiiit a minute, someone already used that same bank account' (one assumes theyd do that with an email address regardless)
my only worry is i feel like my relationship with paypal might be grandfathered in, i feel like newer accounts work differently? people I talk to seem to have a harder time with theirs

That's one of the reason's I may just have to write off the 20 bucks I sent to that gritgud fellow from the last thread, as it's been around 2 weeks of silence since I paid him, with nary a hint of the sketch he owes me.

I've paid considerably more for art before. Even sketches, but even those had more definition, a little shading, clean lines, etc. I guess it comes down to style preferences. I see this >>1390962 and at PWYW, I would give the pictured B/W sketch $20, due to the fact that I can tell they took their time and really paid attention to detail, plus the general cleanliness and shading. I can definitely see how the sketches I replied to in the first place are super good, but if it's 100% just lines I would be expecting to pay less than $20. Just me.

yep I definitely did one of these.. and I just checked my email, he paid me. Even accepted a slightly higher charge for wanting fishnets.
>>
>>1395903
No, this was for the same person who other artists have said they've gotten a charge back.
refer to this post
>>1391952

if it's the same person, I'd say check your e mail to see if he's done the same to you.
>>
>>1395932
yeah that's that same guy. I know what the I stands for.
so you're basically saying I'm the only guy who ever got paid? I'm checking my paypal records here, and... oh that's interesting, it has more details, like invoice ones do (print shipping label, etc options). I'm pretty sure I didn't use an invoice, but maybe I used a 'payment request' ? I remember he asked me to use an invoice but at the time I didn't know how they worked, I think. or at least not how to do a fresh one. If he's a scammer though it's odd he'd request the invoice..
well now I feel kinda bad. like what, I'm not good enough to scam?
>>
>>1395938
And I even let him pay lower than the agreed price because I took a while to get to it.

Could you say when you did this piece for him? maybe it's too old to dispute?
>>
>>1395927
It might just be a matter of time.
He didn't do chargebacks on everyone all at once. When I asked around on tumblr trying to find other people who'd done art for him, one or two didn't get the chargeback until a few days after I mentioned it.

>>1395711
Well, paypal support told me if I uploaded a file containing the text and attached images that I sent to his email, that would be proof that I delivered what was asked and I'd be eligible for seller protection from this kind of stuff. It seems completely insane with how easy it would be to falsify, so maybe they're just pulling my leg, but it's worth a shot.
>>
>>1395952
bout 2 months ago. i hope disputes have a time limit.
>>1395955
yeah I see that kind of thing a lot. they know it's easy to fake, they just want something they can show anyone who might try to bust them for accepting it later.
>>
>>1395955
That's my concern. It's pretty much my "word" that the copy paste of the email is real.
>>
>>1395960
>i hope disputes have a time limit.
IIRC it's something like six months for a chargeback.

>they know it's easy to fake, they just want something they can show anyone who might try to bust them for accepting it later.
The people who might try to bust them don't give a shit though - banks and other card issuers can do the chargeback regardless of what paypal thinks, and they will almost always side with their customer against you. Seller protection doesn't mean the scammer doesn't get his money back, it means paypal covers the seller's loss.
>>

one more example. And to show that I'm open to pretty much anything.
All you gotta do is ask.
>>
>>1395961
Well, as I see it there's too options;
Either A, they don't intend to actually cover the costs, and the advice is simply a false reassurance to try and keep people who sell digital goods from leaving paypal.
or B, they intend to honor it, because they figure the costs of accepting even flimsy evidence is less than the loss of income from having digital goods sales find a safer payment method.

>>1395991
Well, the sheer amount of simultaneous chargebacks with the same story might make his bank think he's bad business in this case, but from what I hear that's generally how it goes in cases of chargeback scam on paypal.
>>
>>1396010
i wouldnt think the bank would be involved, just paypal. surely after the 5th or 6th chargeback theyre like yeah youre overdoing this
>>
>>1396029
The bank is the entity responsible for the chargebacks. Paypal doesn't get a say in whether it's valid.
I suppose they might shut down his paypal account, but they can't stop him from making a new one.
>>
>>1396036
wait what? he doesnt know my bank, paypal is obviously the ones doing the chargebacks. they can choose to stop accepting them.
>>
>>1393812
Do you have any more.. Active animations, thats not really going to sell anybody on it.
>>
>>1394193
I think the idea was somebody else gets his load.
>>
>>1396051
Not your bank, the scammer's bank. The basic idea of the scam is that the buyer tells his bank that the transaction was done by someone who wasn't supposed to have the authority to do it, like their kid, or a person who'd stolen their credit card information, or whatever, and the bank reverses the transaction.
Paypal cant choose to stop accepting them - not sure if it's because of consumer rights laws or just the agreements between paypal and the various banks, but if the bank decides to allow the chargeback, paypal has to do as they say and pay them back. I don't think they can pull money out of your non-paypal account to cover it though.

Can we all agree paypal is shit and too easy to get scammed with?
They are also very sex unfriendly. I just switched to Cash.me and haven't had any problems.

My favorite paypal experience
>get paid $30 to do art on livestream for one guy
>livestream is scheduled for 5pm
>check my paypal
>$30 missing from my account before I even did the art (he filed a dispute saying someone else was using his account)
>do something else on livestream
>guy whines and says I owe him
>ignore

week later
>paypal looks into his claim, find the account has been used from his IP only since its creation
>gives me the $30 back
>doing 5pm livestream
>guy comes into my room and tells me I need to do his art since I got his money
>throws a tantrum telling me to "do the right thing, it doesn't matter since I have the money now"
>draw something else
>he throws a shit fit
>mfw

Silliness aside, I think we should have a spreadsheet for scammers. Saying their usernames and how they scammed people. It'd help a lot of others from reaching the same horrible fate.

Whats important is finding payment processing sites that make it harder for people to scam you out of your hard earned work.
Before I made the switch to cash.me I set up a paypal donation button- stating that the donations went to my wellfare- which made it near impossible for people to scam me from. so far only happened once.

Check out what sex workers are using as well- they rely on websites that allow NSFW content, since they sell primarily NSFW content.
A lot of them seem to be using cash.me
>>
Seeing all this scam shit and realizing I've had luck in having good clients
>>
>>1396464
>Whats important is finding payment processing sites that make it harder for people to scam you out of your hard earned work.
I suppose. But it has to be equally hard for those on the 'hard earned work' side of things to scam people by not doing the work.

I think the biggest concern is removing their ability (read: outside pressure, and thus responsibility) to discriminate against different kinds of business. Basically, this system needs to be like a currency. george fucking washington doesn't care what you buy with his quarters and bills. in order for an economy to function, the regulation (if any) needs to be on the action, not the sale thereof.
>>
>>1396504
People being accepting of sex work and the buying and selling of NSFW goods isn't something that I could imagine happening in our lifetime. A lot of payment processing companies argue that NSFW stuff has a higher chargeback rate than anything else (people buying things when horny then regretting when they are no longer horny and demanding their money back)
What is needed is a NSFW centric payment company that protects both the buyers and sellers.
>>
>>1396592
there's a pretty vast fucking gap between the two
right now it's a lot MORE acceptable to fuck someone for money than to videotape it or draw pictures of it, in total. we need to reverse that.
>refractory period results in chargebacks
hadnt thought of that. but they need to just stop accepting the chargebacks. back in the day, you had to live with your decisions. it's disturbing sometimes when I hear what a large percentage of people just buy shit and return it and consider the restocking fee a rental fee, or regularly just tell amazon shit didnt arrive when it did. thieves need to be shot.
>>
>>1396622
>right now it's a lot MORE acceptable to fuck someone for money than to videotape it or draw pictures of it

How the fuck can you want to ask for a refund after work is done?

This is just like United booting passengers that paid and boarded already.

Or have you also asked for a refund after you've eaten a Value Meal at McDonalds?

Solution: Stop paying in full, never ever pay 100% upfront, use 50-50 and invoicing.

>Or have you also asked for a refund after you've eaten a Value Meal at McDonalds?
people do do that. actually, I've always been amazed at how ready all forms of food service are to take my word for it.. I'm always honest, but by my calculation if I wasn't, I could have scammed restaurants out of several hundred bucks over my decade or so of financial independence. they kinda have to, because while they operate on razor-thin profit margins, they also collapse under the lightest pressure of accusation of problems..
>>
>>1398862
I always do, yeah. if the customer is wary, I'll accept half payment at that point and the rest upon completion, but most of the time I get paid in full before you get the sketch finished.
>>
>>1398848
>Or have you also asked for a refund after you've eaten a Value Meal at McDonalds?

As someone who's worked a long time in the store that is now a pornographic meme pervading the board, that stuff happens a hell of a lot.
>>
>>1398862
Usually. If it's a repeat customer that I've gotten to know, I might even send the sketch and an invoice and get straight to work on finishing it, but mostly I'll wait for their approval of the sketch and partial payment before I start cleaning lines and coloring and such.
For things like comics where the sketch itself is also a lot of work, I ask that the client pony up part of the final payment before I start the sketch.
>>
>>1398874
i understand that, it's just doing a sketch and asking them if they want any changes at that point is the safest bet. Still, that sucks they backed on the payment man
>>
>>1398883
I'm sorry, I think I've expressed myself poorly; I'm not the artist in this particular story, just a random person providing an example.
>>

XXX BnW is the same price as Pin Up. So no, it's not an additional 10$ for XXX art. Coloring it would be.

I usually do. And if I've been paid upfront then I will do several roughs and updates so that the client can get a few adjustments.

Throwing this shot in the dark out. Anyone know of this one artist that's posted comics here in the earlier days? I don't see the guy around and don't know what his handle was but I remembered him drawing the comics up in pencil with no inks and having a good deal of wacky comedy in them too. I'm pretty sure he came from the /co/ comic thread too and that I've seen his stuff there originally, but I thought his adult comics were cool. I remembered them having a bunch of panels too

Sorry for the vague description, but if anyone has any idea who I'm talking about that'd be awesome. Tried looking through the archive but no luck.
>>
>>1400574
Well, I'm new to Sai, and I love the way your strokes look like actual ink strokes with the differing thicknesses. Thought you might have a special technique for achieving it.
>>
>>1401075
Oh!

I actually use clip studio / manga studio! It's a lot better at emulating that pen on paper look. I used to use Sai tho!
Honestly if you want that varying line look, sometimes it's best to fake it!
>>
>>1400986
can you give us any details about the comic? a joke from it, or what a character looked like, or what the subject was?
>>

I remembered one in particular that just had some goofy humor to it and the main character was a girl and she was interacting with some non-human characters. I remembered it almost feeling like some type of videogame parody thing with how the world came across too and that she ended up having sex with one of the creatures and there was anal.

Sorry, wish I could remember more. The lackadaisical nature of it and the art stuck out to me so I hope I can find it again.

This is the exact same person mentioned here. >>1400212
>>1400102
>>1399407
Etc. Etc.
You've been scammed like the rest of us.
Contest it with PayPal.
Copy an email or something where they accepted the art (you can edit out lewd words if you wanna) add in that this person has been pointed out as a scammer and has done this to several artists - the fact that they have so many chargebacks may help PayPal accept that as true.
And if you really need to, you can draw some design type art and send it with your email to PayPal or something.
People like this maggot rely on you not contesting it.
So do.
>>
>>1403047
Who deleted the post with the chargeback proof?
Would have thought it is a good thing to warn others about this asshole.
>>
>>1403047
thank you so much
now I am also wondering if I should not do commission here now
it is scary to know anyone can pay you then tell paypal for money back
>>1403049
mod say it is called doxxing. idk why
>>
>>1403062
People post email addresses non stop in these threads.
And calling it doxxing is bullshit if it's just a PayPal name.
Mine is Paddington bear. But that most certainly isn't my real name!
Eh. Over zealous mod cares more about some fuckwit's maybe fake, maybe real name being shown than you having been ripped off.
This place is so fucking dumb sometimes.

Anyway, keep on commissioning, just only send invoices that require that they be accepted.
That way you can set what you write on them, and they will serve as proof for PayPal.
It is obscene that chargebacks can so easily be abused.

Funny thing is, if Ihale actually is the person that they have on their PayPal, then I have their full name, and their physical address.
Might send a few thousand empty boxes around and also sign up to every damn mailler I can with all their addresses.
>>
>>1403083
what do you mean "only send invoices that require they be accepted"?
If there is way to avoid this chargeback to happen again I would like to know
>>
>>1403086
Not the same anon, but it's best that you set up invoices on your PayPal, instead of just requesting money.
You can write your own terms and conditions, mine say that I dont do refunds after I have started a piece and the client has paid. That's enough proof for PayPal for any charge backs that might happen.
I do wish there was another standardised way of paying though. I know some people use Stripe but it's not well known enough for commissions here...
>>
>>1402860
damn dude this is coming out a lot better than I expected. whatchu charge for this kinda shit?
>>
>>1403086
invoicing will protect you from paypal chargebacks, but not cc chargebacks which is what this guy did. nothing can protect you from those.
>>
I commissioned this a couple of years ago. Probably the best thing I'd gotten, but it looks like the artist's style has fallen off since.

all you guys talking about chargebacks and whatnot, while I'm unable to do so via patreon after buying a commission tier from this asshat : http://thecrystalcheese.tumblr.com/ that never delivered

Thanks! For a full body model I charge $65. $35 for a bust.
>>

that's just patreon 101.
>>1403477
seriously? that's fucking low for that. I mean i can't afford it, sure, and I can't think of what I'd want exactly (probably something a lot more complex), but I was expecting more. I guarantee you put more time and effort into that than most people doing 65-dollar drawings

well thanks for your input anon, it helps. I took up 3d not long back and I'm at an awkward point where I'm not really good enough to get hired to do it and i have 0 clue of what freelance and commissioned art market is like so I make mistakes. I will probably try to raise prices again as my work improves.
>>
>>1403771
About how long have you been learning 3d?
Any tips for getting started?
>>
>>1403771
look good enough to get hired to me. You basically did what they need everyone to do: turn beloved 2d characters into nice-looking 3d characters that'll be cheaper to animate

since February this year. I'm a noob but I think my biggest tip would be to learn traditional modelling fundamentals before jumping into sculpting, and pick a software right from the start you won't mind paying for later if you plan on making commercial stuff and worry about licensing (blender is free)

>>1403814
it's a bit more complicated than that, but i appreciate the sentiment. Also tink already has an official 3d model and the guy I made this for wanted it to be a pretty close match.

At least the equivalent of Minimum Wage, if not more. Considering the other artwork and prices, I'd start at £10.

It's really hard to pick a trap artist.

I've learned from experience not to commission anyone that hasn't got history or at least some experience drawing them.

>>
>>1412349
That looks good enough, though I'd love to see how you do it with a reference.

What are yer' prices?
>>
>>1412390
Ehhh it varies a lot depending on how complicated the picture is, but.. low. Like I wanna throw out a price of ... 20 for a finished cel shaded single character? but it's a lot less if they're naked or you don't need shading or for that matter if you don't need color (though that one doesn't save ya much) and more if they've got some ornate-ass robe or need a complicated pose.. and if it's two characters, it's not DOUBLED by any means.. certainly not.. more like add 50%.. but two people can start doing really crazy acrobatics in the realm of sex, and that's where i've gotta charge more again, y'dig?
but i can give you a quote if you can describe what you want, and nobody has to know about it.
I drew 5 people in a fucking daisy chain once and I felt like the 60 bucks i charged was too little. thank god he had a reference to go with. Then again, one time I drew like 12 girls just randomly lying around on the floor, and that cost relatively less, because it was a simple style and the poses were all super basic.
>>
>>1412399
What about a flat color, just the character doing some martial art pose? I'm mostly looking for this to be a kid around what Gohan was when DBZ started.

Btw I know it's weird coming here for it, but I'm not looking for a porn picture, just an image of the character.

Hit me up with your email and we can discuss things further.
>>
>>1412406
oh that's fine. I can give you that for... fuck, probably 12. unless he's got major intense cloth folds like piccolo's cape. I wanna say 12. I'll just say 12 for now, with no guarantee that price remains the same for future similar commisions. might go up to 14. cant imagine it being higher than that though
>>
>>1412420
