Well personally anon, i like the kind of transformation where the character/protagonist/person goes through a quick transformation. In terms of accepting/transitioning/dealing with this sudden change i like it when the character tries to denies new traits or maintains previous personality. Im not the biggest fan of personality overwrites but I've made a few exceptions before. I also like the idea of others being surprised/confused with rhe tramsformation, no memory wipes. How about yours anon?

I like decently medium paced transformations, anywhere between a few minutes to a week depending on if the protag/main character wants it or not.

As for new traits I'm a fan of them being scared and confusion, and getting someone/thier lover to help them accept enjoyment of new feelings or happy about it.

Memory wipe is good if only trusted people remember I wouldn't want anyone freaking out or being taken to a science lab for testing.

It's unclear whether this is asking for transformations I like to see in smut or things I want to happen to myself. So I'll answer both.

Length: Single Metamorphosis. No *POOF* transformation, it's a slow process that takes minutes. Protagonist can feel tits growing in, hair lengthening, butt expanding etc. But it's not a process that takes days and they don't spend anytime walking around in an intermediate state.

Looks/Personality: tall, graceful, stylish. Very fit body shape, but with significant boobs and curves that seem slightly too exaggerated to be attached to someone with such an in-shape body type. Independent, intelligent, sexually bold, neither sub nor domme.

Otherwise, except where mentioned about two clicks on the dial short of 'bimbo' in body shape and appetite.

Acceptance: After adjustment, the new girl should be fully aware of the transformation, But not want to change back because their life has improved significantly. If transformed against their will they should still hold animosity to the transformer though.

Realism: If there's any attempt at realism, than the author should be aware of how gender identity/dysphoria works in real life, even if it is highly fetishized. Nothing pisses me off more than a TG story trying to be realistic and getting simple things wrong.

If there's no attempt at realism, (eg. transformation by magic girl-ray, or having your drink spiked with girl-potion,) then go nuts with whatever stereotypes you want

Other: Transformation shouldn't be for some guy's power-fantasy/revenge-fantasy. If it is a guy doing the TG'ing then he himself should ultimately also end up a victim of transgendering.

(eg. Guy transforms male friend with magic remote so he can have a girlfriend. All goes well, until the end of the story and the cat stands on the remote and it zaps him into being his new gf's French maid)

Acceptance: I already want to be a girl IRL, but I'd be more pro-active about it. I want to take the thoughts I have now that are like "I want to be a girl, but what will my friends and family think, how will I deal with work, etc." and eliminate everything after the word "but".

Other: Transformation will be self-inflicted, or 'forced' on me by a close friend who is aware of how I feel

Freak out at first at something impossible happening then check myself out I'd proberbly wouldn't change all that much other then my wardrobe I'd embrace my love for cute stuff a little more publicly I'd basically be myself only a little cuter, not too girly somewhere between tomboyish and sweet hearted dork just a little shorter then I am now with a modest bust I'd be too shy to wear anything too girly outside of a modest skirt though I'd try stuff on.

fantastical:
I meet a beautiful girl in what seems like a dream and asks me to dance with her, she leads because I don't know how and we slow dance and then she kisses me and my body becomes petite just a little shorter then hers perfect for nuzzling her chest, while my clothes become a lovely soft ball gown and I fill out the dress perfectly with around d cup my hair is long and flowing I sit on the ground to assess the whole thing almost if she knew what I wanted/needed and she puts me in a princess hold and puts me to bed and snuggles with me, the next few days would be her spoiling me and teaching me how to do stuff like make-up and outfit coordination eventually lewd touching and marriage we'd cosplay In sweet lolita and other stuff and be cute yuri lovers.

Nope! I love it!

Very vivid transformation, particularly the clothing change and filling out the dress. And the idea of being one of tow girls dressing up in elaborate gowns together is a favourite of mine :).

For some reason when imagining magical TG for myself. Even though I love super elaborate feminine dresses and gowns, I never imagine myself getting a physical TF and clothing TF at the same time.

It's always either TG in semi-sexual situation so clothes don't matter, or it's just magically solved in the background. Or my body remains unchanged, but my clothing feminizes around me and I have to do the physical transition myself. (Which in my head is more fantastic than it sounds.)

I don't like when being a girl is idealized, or when being a guy is portrayed in a negative light.

What I really like, is when the characters feel more realistic. For example, on most stories MC will go shopping and have a long makeover and will suddenly love it, when in real life many girls complain of doing so. My take would be MC be the kind that complain about the work to look good, but would end up doing it anyway because he thinks that it looks good.

Same goes for interaction, not all women love each other. What about if MC is forced to go against an antagonistic female character and ends up having to fight over who is the alpha girl of the place? Also, sensitive MC having to interact with thought girls post transformation looks like a fun change to the usual dynamic.

This kind of stuff.

Also, its not like a cold and distant guy needs to loose the edge when turned into a girl. There is an entire different kind of charm that can go along with it, like making him a "cold proper dame".

Fair points I do agree masculinity shouldn't be seen as a negative in tg content it should just be seen as a different perception of how they behave, antagonistic women make great rivals having to deal with a new body and a bitchy girl who doesn't like you would make things more interesting for readers, especially if there is rival social groups like awkward nerds verses popular party babes or punk/goth girls verses woman who've grown out of their teen phases.

The cold/emotionless aspect would be perfect for goth girl/vampire settings or teens who don't like their parents treating them like kids/little girls.

TG alone isn't really a major inspiration anymore as I've become more comfortable with my own identity and I tend to be more into stuff that is "TG + (other fetish)" or fetish/transformation stuff where the guy's gender shift in the process is just assumed but the other stuff is the process.

I definitely recommend this if it's feasible. You can just put a petticoat (I recommend a tulle one judging from your preferences) underneath a skirt/dress and get a similar effect + you can stack multiple for enhanced poofyness.

Tulle is generally the material used in those dresses/undergarments to create that poofy effect.

I mentioned it cause it's generally softer and nicer than other materials. Plus it's light but still strong enough to add volume to a skirt/dress.
