A decent story goes a long way.

I made the above two things to simple prove how easy it is to make a basic game in renpy.

It's not because I want to make a slave trainer and can't, its more because I want to make something different, yet still great to play and experience.

You will find that many devs here will either spam there shit much like I have today to try and shill; or simply lurk in the background like I often do. It's not down to not trying to shill, fuck every buck you might get helps pay the cost of art, ect; but as is often the case with many devs, nothing is worst than stating things/changes that never arrive.

I mean, I started this whole project as a fucking idea guy driven mad waiting for Tropic to produce something. I threw some money at some people to help get me started, and have now got a few people to join me, as part of a rev-share to create something we can actually be proud of. Sure I could release our 60% complete demo as some kind of alpha, promising updates each month until I get hit by a car or my computer blows up or something; or I can simply wait until its finished, helping out other anons here and there with coding or something, or continue to lurk hoping that someone remembers that I'm still making a game.

At the end of the day, whatever you make is a new type of pie. People will either like it or not. You go in trying to please everyone you will be sure to fail. Make something you want yourself, and you're bound to find people who share the same interest. Fuck I ain't never even seen Frozen, but I've heard the song and seen that snowman thing more than enough times. The world needs more pies anon. Help us bake some.

Find some cartoon you liked as a child, assuming you aren't still one. Google it, find sprites with expressions. Add paheal34 to your image library of images of things. Write story about how the only male character in said series or whatever male lead/token bad guy is in it, becomes either corrupted or whatever, kidnaps any and all females in the series, starting with the most popular, and there you go.

1.Happens during the movie: You end up going through the mountains past Elsa's castle and pass out from the cold. You wake up in a room and are told you can stay till you have recovered. You then stay and develop a relationship with or corrupt her.

2.Happens after the movie: You are one of the prince guy brothers. On the orders of your parents you go to Elsa and Anna to try and patch up relations between your two countries. How much experience did you have with the various aspects of making games(writing, coding, ect.)?

I work with a group of people, as the game director among other things. In terms of making actual games, aside from a few flash things back when I was a kid, not a lot. I have had a good dab at writing of course, though I think just about everyone has.

I started using Renpy, by having someone make me a very simple coded beginning, much like the one I posted above. From there I taught myself a fair bit, spent a lot of time of just trial and error until I got things how I wanted them, and randomly just test myself by trying to push what I can now achieve within the limitations of Renpy. I have a great go to person who is awesome when it comes to coding, and as part of our own game, I hired him to develop the battle elements, along with a few other things including an autoloader, ect. I commission artists for some elements, and have others on a rev-share agreement for others. I also have a lead writer taking the pressure off myself, though I myself also write and handle all of the scripting and editing.

The long and the short of it, your own freedom is your imagination. If you can imagine it, you can do it. If you can't, the resources or skilled people with the resources are out there. That is until you get the pickling error. Fuck pickles, they don't even taste nice.

Oh a few years ago I joined a studio based on /v/ to make a vn, as the lead writer. It all went tits up in the end though as the director didn't know his arse from his face.

To put it all together, I created a studio in order to find people with skills greater than my own to help me produce a game.

Those above I did myself, as you can probably tell. Its not hard to create something like that. The people in my group all do this as a hobby, on rev-share agreements unless otherwise stated. We do this part time as a bit of fun, and often just have a laugh taking the piss in our discord channel.

In our studio we have;

A lead writer and male VA
A Character design/sprite artist
A Colourist
A CG artist (on commission)
A Chibi and battle sprite artist
A female VA
A lead coder (Previous commission, helped set everything up)
A BG artist (Previous commisson)

I can now do much of the coding myself, as he put together the battle aspects, I can code new battles from learning from that. I suck at art so have other people do that, who I believe are talented and skilled; I myself enjoy the styles. Music can be found anywhere royally free, though I would love for a proper music producer. Animations I do myself, its not that hard to get them sorted once you have a decent base.

I basically take all of the above, and script it all together. At the moment we are at around 40k words, aiming for around 60-70k words before we release the demo. We have numerous tracks, battles, animations, cgs, sprites, ect.

In the end, your project will only be as hard as you make it. If you are more talented than myself (not a hard feat) you can do the majority of the roles above. Just learn your own limitations, don't expect to be finished within a few weeks.
