I turned off my adblocker on gelbooru ever since I couldn't even view thumbnails anymore and strangely enough I'm not getting ads at all. Now I just use that together with Sankaku, even though the paging is shit.
If I could search for even 3 tags at a time on danbooru I'd go there, but 2 tags is just fucking garbage.

I used Gelbooru daily for like 5-6 years but it's gone so downhill over the last year. Pages don't load half the time, auto image resizing straight up doesn't work even when I enable the option, animated gifs/webms don't work properly, etc. The sit is basically unusable for me now. I tried switching to Sankaku but the auto paging is iffy at best and stops working for no reason sometimes. I also fucking HATE how webms auto play, and there's no way to turn that off.

You can use both, you know. I check pixiv and the boorus daily. Not all Japanese artists upload to pixiv anymore, a large portion of them moved to twitter. Boorus are good aggregates of all the stuff you might not see otherwise.

The worst thing about pixiv is when artist moves to twitter. Then their art neither lands on any boorus or pixiv. And when you want to download it you need to scroll past 300 granblue images and their cat.

I moved to pixiv years ago when I finally saw gelbooru's mods for the huge faggots that they are, massively purging images with tags that didn't agree with their tastes or being complete autists about the tags themselves. At first it was hard to adapt, but soon I was subscribed to dozens of great artists, and finding a pixiv downloader was a game changer. Nowadays all I have to do when I feel like fapping is going to the "new works by followed artists" page and lose myself in fresh content that appeals to me. I follow over 1200 artists and I'm still finding new ones.

The tags are usually dogshit, but pixiv actually does a great job of recommending you similar works and artists. Every time I follow someone new or bookmark an image I get a bunch of recommendations that pique my interest, and I can easily waste one or two hours exploring it all. What I end up doing a lot of the time is saving all the tabs with firefox's session manager to go back another day and try to finish it.

Another benefit of using pixiv is that you can immediately trace back the author of any image that you downloaded through the filename, unless he deleted his account. And once in an artist's profile you can get more information about them, like doujins they are working on, published works, collaborations and, in many cases, their own bookmarked images, that usually have the same fetishes they draw and let you discover similar artists.

These are my only problems with Danbooru and it's still my absolute favourite with the BBB script.
These are only minor issues but I'm still beyond pissed off with the 1000 page limit. It took me 2 weeks fapping to each picture on each page before I hit the 1000 limit. Thank god the small_breasts tag gets consistent updates.
