So true, these scenes are so nice. They might not have much value story wise but they bring a lot to the comfy atmosphere of Boruto and you really get the sense the kids are friends. The academy setted up things which should be important to the later plot as well as introducing us the majority of the characters,fixing some old ones (Shino, Sai) and introducing some needed characters to fill the small rooster of characters and give it some variaty while developing some subplots. like Boruto's Jougan, Mitsuki's view on Boruto and how they met, Sumire as a character (who will probably make it into the Manga), her mark on her hand, which is without a doubt ment to resemble Boruto's mark he got from Momoshiki (but instead of a diamond it's a circle), Nue/Gozu Tennou, which will probably related to the Otsutsuki's since it seems like it's related to Kaguya's dimension jutsu and the Jougan activating while Nue was around etc.

This is more plot progression than Zabuza's arc had. Kishimoto and Kodachi already said it's canon and now since Sumire/Denki/Iwabe stayed just before Gaiden starts, the team of Metal being heavily implied to include Denki and Iwabe, the whole thing about Sumire (plus her getting an own Novel now later on when the Ghost arc is done since two months then) and their marketing, it should be a given now that the stuff happened there and the characters are relevant to the later plot.

And desu the Ghost arc is from all of Boruto's arcs including Gaiden, the movie or the current Shojoji arc IMO the best written arc as well as the most entertaining.

What I found boring though, were episodes 2-4 , and epsiode seven. They seemed to lack stakes, except for episode seven's stalker smoke bomb segment. That was the only time Naruto really had me on edge
