Narita's problem is that the fucker keeps introducing more and more characters. Now we even have fucking Ishtar in the middle of this clusterfuck of a war, there's like 30 or so characters too between Servants and Masters and related to the War people.

This is why Apocrypha, for better or worse, pretty much ended up writing out all the Masters of one side, not that it mattered because Apocrypha is still shit but you get what I mean. Writing a story with 7+7 vs 7+7 is way too much to do properly even if you are a good writer, some people will end up underdeveloped, some will be killed early, or you can take your sweeeeeeet-ass time to flesh out all of them one by one.

There's also the issue that Nasu keeps trolling him and therefore he has to be careful about whatever new thing he does because whenever he does Nasu appears out of nowhere and introduces the same thing 5 minutes later and ends up being different from how he did it.

Except that ISN'T where the narrative is centered in the case of TM, at least in the founding entries. They were focused on a handful of characters in everyday modern environments with supernatural elements, where the conflict between factions take place almost entirely in the background. Most of the MCs aren't part of that conflict until being dragged into a small part of it, and even then the conflict that occurs is typically small-scale. Things like the clashes between the Mage Association, The Church, The DAA, etc., are all set dressing to the actual stories, which are really more about the protagonist and their respective heroines.
And yeah, people can die. That's not a particularly unique occurance and doesn't really draw much comparison between TM and GoT. Might as well include Tomino's works for the same reasons.

As Caster he's the wise Sage king, who uses his clairvoyance freely to see the future at all times. Its Gilgamesh from after his journey for immortality, where he learned humility. Have you read or watched Narita's other works? All of them are like that.

He basically takes his time on every faction, all of which form some web of temporary alliances, schemings, betrayals, and all that shit. And since it is literally two wars going on at once, it has as many Master/Servant pairs as Apocrypha, and he didn't take the easy way out of writing out half the Masters to cut down on characters.
