Not everybody has literal years and years to spend reading this series to get caught up especially when Kamachi makes reading it a chore 98% of the time because of how boring a lot of it is. Reading this series is like being dumped on an island where the entire island is the bad parts of the LN and you get a shovel to find small golden coins buried throughout it.

There's nothing preventing you from retracing back to the earlier novels after you've caught up. Most of the core Raildex fanbase in the west did this since OT1-6 were only fully translated after the WW3 books were done. We mostly followed the S2 books as they were being translated after Railgun aired. The best part was getting stuck jn The Way of Light and Darkness for months.

Imagine Breaker still had many forms in history. It was the right hand of a saint but it was obviously preserved (so IB won't leave) and formed to become an arrow/spiritual item. Who knows what form it took after it was destroyed in Crowley's fight with Mathers but it was the last known form it took before Crowley learned it would end up in the right hand of Kamijou Touma.

Would it be a stretch to say that NT is about revealing Touma's mindset? His "personal reality", so to speak? It was alluded to early on by Birdway, and touched upon again with Ollerus. Touma is also being put into many situations where his ideals are being challenged, and suffering far more than he was during OT.

Maybe the thing in his arm grows in power the more broken he becomes? I know he's not really an esper, but he underwent the curriculum. And a common theme with espers is that the strongest tend to be the most fucked up in the head.
