For just Accelerator and Hamazura. There's Accel's wings of asspull, the end of his "fight" against Kakine was mediocre, and the only good antagonists were Acqua, Carissa, and Fiamma. And none of them were actually evil or that fucked up. Then there's Mugino's redemption being pretty poorly explained, hardly any development for Aleister or Touma. There are hardly any fights in general, and the only amazing ones are in OT16, and parts of WW3. Fiamma didn't even get that great of a fight because IT effectively nerfed him instantly.

Did we read the same volume? Accel literally pounded Kakine into the pavement after an intense battle. As for Mugino's "redemption", I have to agree it was pretty half-assed. If you're in the middle of a warzone and a psycho stalker who's tried to kill you over and over again makes yet another attempt, you can hardly be blamed for killing them, or at least not saving them.

I seriously feel like I'm truly enjoying Raildex again. For awhile everything just seemed dull and clouded, but with the recent LN, the fact that we are getting season 3 material in the manga and that Season 3 being more and more likely, things just seem to be finally looking up. The epilogues contain critical info so you should read those. OT6's epilogue covers important stuff about Level 6 Shfit and the Imaginary Number District which the anime either glossed over or completely skipped, while OT13's epilogue covers important stuff about Aleister, his plan, his relationship with Heaven Canceller, and AC's response to Vento's invasion which the anime also either glossed over and skipped. SS1 ch3 is a mini-arc in the volume where the last arc of Index II came from. It was skipped, but might be used along with some original content in the first episode of Index III if they plan to make it a reintroduction episode.

Then, just proceed in release order. Side stories are optional, but most suggest reading Norse Mythology and Stiyl SS before starting with NT.
