Honestly the characters feel out-of-character a lot for the sake of drama. First we had Sanae suddenly being a bitch and leaving the group, and now we had Maki suddenly being a bitch and leaving the group. Other than that it's an enjoyable show.

This, particularly in the recent episode between Yoshino and Shiori.

Also the presentation of the characters psychological hang-ups and their resolution all feels a little formulaic. It's pretty obvious the next few episodes will be exploring Ririko's et al. faults and insecurities.

Still I think it's picked up a bit since the earlier episodes and I like the current theme of exploring the girls issues and their coming to terms with themselves and accepting their lives and past as integral to their being and moving on with optimism.

I've not kept up with the threads, but I'm surprised to see everyone as down on the show as this.

Although I must admit in this episode I felt more for Ririko struggling with her lines than any of Maki or Shiori's drama, the way saying "just enjoy it" fixed her acting was kinda baffling though.
