That's kind of the point I was making. Having read the ingredients (and mixing ratio which many authors tend to conveniently forget) of gunpowder on wikipedia or some shit does not mean you can successfully mix it without blowing your hands off.

Then there's the whole issue of weaponizing it because it's difficult enough to make cannons, but proper rifles would be even harder, but that's also something that's easily glossed over.

The LN is far better in exposition and pacing. The manga goes at a breakneck pace, and while it explains the overall story, you miss the true jewel of Mushoku Tensei being standout amongst other isekai of its vein, where Rudy does go through a lot of internal strife in terms of growing up and taking responsibility.

You won't see Sylphie again for a while, but it makes more sense once she's back (except for the stuff related to Eris exiting for that part of the story, which is retarded).

Unfortunately that same great characterization is thrown out completely and goes to SAO-tier whenever it's related to him getting his dick wet, but that's thankfully relatively uncommon.
