Honestly a BIG problem with the DiU anime lies more on the fact that we saw it on a weekly basis.

DiU is the kind of series with just a little fun story each episode, and that is better experienced while marathoning it (like many of us did with the manga). Waiting a whole damn week for a new episode that had no progress to the story (for the most part) doesn't seem to be worth it.

I love DiU, but I don't feel it's meant to be watched one episode per week. In that sense, I understand why many anime-only viewers didn't like it as much.

Pucci spent his part getting personally involved right from the beginning. Valentine spent his part sitting around being fat while Gyro and Johnny collected corpse-parts for him. Pucci achieving Heaven was something that was a result of him personally doing everything necessary to get it, stealing Jotaro's memories, using Sports Maxx, tracking down and fusing with the Green Baby, and getting C-Moon to the right place. Valentine temporarily used Jesus (whose parts were stolen from the people who HAD collected them) which was siding with Lucy to try and protect her from him. Pucci managed to kill all of his enemies bar Emporio. Valentine only managed to kill Gyro and Diego, with Hot Pants being accidentally killed by Love Train.

SC's animation quality was way above DiU's, it only had a few episodes that dipped in quality if I remember correctly. I think DiU would of been better from the get-go if they just stuck with the manga's original style.

Finally got around to watching JoJo this past week, I've seen parts 1, 2, and 3 so far.

Battle Tendency seems like the strongest arc by far. Joseph is a far more interesting character than either Jonathan or Jotaro and his fights are the most entertaining. The story is well-constructed too, whereas Phantom Blood is too short and Stardust Crusaders is too episodic.

I did really like the expanded cast in SC though. Polnareff is a bro.

Imagine getting all your teenage angst back at once, particularly in his case. Given that he hadn't had the memories before he hadn't been able to heal or move on at all. As well as that, all the rage and despair about his unjust imprisonment and wasted life in the jail would've been made clear to him, with Pucci as the reason for it. This is Weather at his absolute emotional worst, to the extent that he orders Anasui to kill him after they've dealt with Pucci.

I like that /jojo/ has shifted toward worshipping the Bossu and speculating about his past, it's pretty fun and has led to some great theorycrafting, but I do think people around here tend to take their own fan theories too seriously.

When I was reading Diavolo's backstory as presented in the actual text of Golden Wind, it honestly just felt like a bunch of horror tropes stitched together. The unusual pregnancy, Diavolo torturing his own mother underneath the floorboards for years, the entire town going up in flames, etc. It's honestly one of the few parts in the manga that leaves me with the impression that Araki himself didn't know exactly what he was hinting at, and just through a bunch of generic creepy / mysterious elements into Diavolo's past to make our imaginations run wild.

We will never know if D4C could have accessed the original universe because it's really neither here nor there. We can only speculate. It *is* explicitly stated that the number of universes Valentine can go to is infinite, so not even Valentine would be able to answer this question. The scope of his stand is infinite; he'd never be able to visit every possible alternate universe even if he lived forever and did nothing but hop dimensions.

Maybe it works in accordance with the many worlds theory of quantum physics, wherein every choice that can be made in a given timeline is binary and results in the timeline splitting into two different alternate universes, and the reason Valentine is only ever shown visiting universes where the same basic events of the SBR race took place is because it would take a lot of universe traveling to get to a universe where enough abstractions occurred for history to take the same course it took in the original universe. But that's extremely speculative and is really only just my personal theory. The real answer is that we don't know.
