It's slice of Life. Part 4 also had the most brutal fights until Part 5 because of Jouske's healing abilities. The protags suffered the most abuse until that point in the series. Look at how fucked up Jotaro got in his first battle with Kira.

Part 5 or 6.

Part 5 had a great cast, cool interactions, and a bare-bones plot that was all but lost behind repetitive fights to the death that all started and concluded in basically the same way - an assassin attacks the group, and gets killed dramatically after they or the heroes talk about/demonstrate their resolve. Trish and Giorno were also actively detrimental to it.

6 was where Araki really started to transition to seinen, with the (at the time) most detailed and complex hero and villain, and a more complex overarching story. But it's not perfect by any means, although the individual parts of it are excellent it could've been put together better. And the parts post-prison are the best, but also feel notably rushed, likely due to executive fuckery.

Nobody rescues baby Josuke. Because of this, by the time he makes it to the hospital, his Stand has become completely crippled, making Josuke mostly human. Stand users congregate to Morioh. Jotaro defeats Angelo, but is too weakened to help against Keicho and Akira, who run amok in town. Kira is forced to fight them as Stand users become rampant and disrupt his quiet life. The enemy shows up and Kira unwittingly uses his new ability on him, which makes him disappear. They run away, and when they look back, the villain's returned with a confused look on his face - which triggers Kira's memory from earlier. He puts two and two together and tells Josuke farewell as he sends him back in time to the night he was rushed to the hospital. He saves his baby self and, upon returning to the present, finds the enemy standing over him with Kira's dead body. He thinks, "In the end, Kira and I will have the last laugh, and everyone in Morioh will have a quiet life," right as he gets killed.

The point of Part 6's ending is that fate did not forget the Joestars, thanks to Emporio's meddling, which is why we have the Joestars in SBR/JJL. Part 7 and 8 take place after the events of Part 6, whether they are the final universe or one after it, but Emporio - who remembers the old universe - is literally the only thing that's unnatural. But even if he did show up, it could've just been because the same shit happened all over again. Actually, it's entirely possible that SBR and JJL take place BEFORE the original universe. It's also possible that every single part takes place in a different universe and it's merely coincidence that their predecessor universes are so similar to their predecessor parts.

If it comes to blows with Joubin then Gappy has to realise the promises to another family. There's an interesting question if Araki played it right, about Gappy having pick between a family he only knows via other people and the fusion or an actual cohesive family that actually has a future where the people who are affected are alive.
