Pucci's entire character is based on contradictions and lying to himself. While DIO did expressly say he needed a pure friend who didn't have any selfish or sexual motives, Pucci's motives certainly weren't selfless and they could well have been sexual.

I'm pretty sure him and DIO never actually did it though, the fact that Pucci didn't immediately present his boipucci is probably one of the reasons DIO valued him as an individual.

I think at this point it's largely irrelevant. Pucci couldn't stop time the way The World could, nor could he move in it. The final traces of The World were at his disposal, and they gave him just enough of an advantage to be a threat.

And yeah, given that he failed to achieve the permanent world where everyone was forced to know their fates I'd say he did fail to achieve Heaven, but not because of DIO's bone or whatever. I'm still not a fan of the look of early 00's anime like Kino's Journey, Tutu, Haibane Renmei even though they are good shows. They feel outdated to me, even more than older shows.

Stone Ocean was basically Araki doing his own thing. Skin-peeling, more complex characters, REALLY weird shit, and much more focus on themes like fate and inevitability. Twelve-year-old boys didn't appreciate this, but given that SO was halfway to being Seinen and was put together weirdly that's not that much of a surprise. Araki's happy with what he wrote. If he only cared about what readers bought then he'd be rewriting part 3 eternally.

And part 7 was always going to be risky, use your head. Japanese readers prefer Japanese protagonists, a part set in America where virtually all the characters are white was always going to be a gamble. Not to mention the early stages of it - it had a ton of introductory chapters where not much happened, stands weren't properly shown till later, it didn't even originally have the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure name (although it was always meant to be it) and it switched magazines and format dramatically.

I think Haibane is the one that suffered the most from that, it's very inconsistent. Thank God the anime was fishing for the old, worn out and melancholic atmosphere so the fact that it feels outdated works to its advantage, or doesn't hurt it as much as one would think it does.
