I guess the stress and trauma of having a bad childhood and being molested (probably multiple times) did so much damage to his psyche that he formed a completely different personality as a means to cope and feel better about himself. He probably never told the priest about his issues because of shame, fear of being further ridiculed, and/or perhaps fearing some sort of religious-based punishment. However, he gradually lost control over his alternative personality (it means that his life probably went from bad to worse with small temporary doses of superficial happiness) to the point that it became the main one while the original became the latent one. He probably has several bad memories suppressed and the positive ones got altered to his favor while not taking any consideration a different point of view unless it's in his favor. By not having any ways to cope and remedy his already fragile psyche plus fear of being known (boss of Passione and anything related with him), his personality disorder evolved into that of a paranoid schizophrenic with sadistic, avoidant (prefers to be a hermit and live anonymously), and delusional tendencies. Trish got lucky in the gene pool by not sharing any of her dad's traits.

Absolutely, that's what holds SBR back to me, it's quite a mess if you look at it in it's entirety. Awesome characters like Tim and Hot Pants deserved better.
I still love it tho, specially the mid section, Scary Monsters up to Civil War has got to be one of my favorite segments in all of JoJo.
And, yeah, I share the feeling on Valentine, Love Train drags way too much, I like the conclusion, but it owns nothing to the build up, which could have been much shorter.

Jobins character has been built up, redesigned, perfected and worked on for years man. He fits the villain roll perfectly and it'd be great to see such a well rounded character be our villain and not just some evil guy introduced mid/end-part.
And for those who for some reason think he isn't the antagonist, I really really don't know how.
