This is literally the main criterion used to classify a disease, mental or not. Do you think there is a clear-cut between physiological and pathological processes? In a lot of cases there is a spectrum, and only when the symptoms somehow start affecting the patient's quality of life we can talk about illnesses.
Admittedly defining a disease is harder in psychiatry than in other fields, but the principles are the same.

Yeah no. This has somehow become an accepted opinion, but I think it's bullshit. The things are two: you are either attracted to people of the same sex or you're not. The degree of attraction may vary, but the main point still stands.
It's still possible to experiment with other girls even though you're not attracted to them of course, but if you are, then you're either bisexual or a lesbian. And if you're straight, after the first time, or few times, why would you keep it up?

Straight. I love het romance, don't hate or love yaoi, but for some reason detest yuri.

If I were to guess why I'd say two things -- Yuri constantly ruining hetero romance stories, and yuri fans. "Lesbian shows up and gets antagonistic towards male MC over female MC" is a trope that happens so fucking often it's frustrating. I have read many, many, MANY manga that have this trope, but not ONE with it reversed, with a gay male trying to steal away the male MC. It's a tired as shit trope, does nothing to develop any of the characters aside from maybe the lesbian (who really had little place in the story in the first place), and doesn't move the plot forward at all.

Yuri fans are self explanatory. I rarely see yaoi fans outside of yaoi/fujobait shows, yet yuri fans are fucking rabid any time two girls come onto the screen together. I've been keeping up with Mosou Telepathy for example and the comment section on Batoto literally had to be shut down because yuri fans were crying over the male MC and the girls not getting together.
