The real moral is that don't let your monster's spirits run you. Zarc ultimately was a shitty trainer and his dragons became rabid cowards as a result.

Zarc went insane due to the pressure aparently and wasn't exactly like Jaden when it takes to befriending duel monster spirits.
It's one thing when you are more of a friend that treats your cards like equals, but in Zarc's case he didn't do proper things like taking care of or calming them down. He instead kept going being manipulated by the whims of the audience AND his dragons. If he kept calm when dueling, he could have managed to interact better with them. His overall solution was: audience wants violent entertainment - do it. Dragons are angry, scared and want revenge and power - let them go wild and fuse with them for power and security.

The biggest problem in all that is that it isn't exactly Zarc's overall fault. He was in a society actually worse than Synchro's City. It is pretty easy to see someone going crazy there with expectations and shit, which makes me angry CAUSE THEY COULD HAVE ACTUALLY EXPLORED THAT! FUCK!

They actually had a society that gladly accepted gladiatorian struggles like that. It isn't hard to see someone wanting a carrier and going insane with all the expectations and everything on the line, but they never ever cared to explore that. Only now we could get a glimpse on what the dragons might have gone through in the third to last episode.

I can believe Ono was involved to start but after Arc-V's reputation went into the toilet they had to make drastic changes. I wish. DSOD's duels were awesome. I like how they didn't explain everything and to make you infer what's going on although sometimes I had to look up the card effect to see what it did. But they were very fast paced with minimal declaration of card effects. That kind of takes away from the shilling aspect. I think the DM anime is kinda meh but the Yugioh manga is really good, easily the best.

Zexal is alright, I'd say its really good but at least half of it is boring garbage. GX is a fun ride, but that's all it is. 5D's first 60 episodes I think are the best the Yugioh anime has to offer. Arc-V is just a disappointment.

I feel like I'd put 5D's above Arc-V simply because 5D's resolved it's early plot stuff with the Dark Signer arc. The series goes downhill after that but at least we had a resolution for all of the stuff we cared about. Though I do think the last 10 or so eps were pretty good too.

This is why I can forgive people separating the 5D'S Dark Signer arc from the rest while get annoyed when people do it on ARC-V Standard which I found passable at best. The Dark Signer arc resolves most, if not all, plot points, making it capable of being a standalone. The same can't be said with Standard, which, if anything else was actually used to introduce plot points that would be "resolved" much later on in the series.
