So why are the angels just so creepy now? They felt pretty "normal" so far with Whis and Vado. It's beginning to sink in.

That being said, It's interesting that the red ki that covers Goku is the same as what his opponent uses, and that color isn't used anywhere else in the intro (fat lady gets close)
The fact that Goku is normal, not any form of SSJ after it too makes me wonder if the red isn't his doing.
Every time we see any sort of transformation, it's always got SOME change, not just "different color aura"

Reposting how I want Super to "Pan" out:

Goku inevitably has a fairly easy run through the tournament until he reaches Ayyy Lmao. Through whatever drawn out reason he and the rest of Universe 7 manages to beat them.

Goku then ends up against Mysterious Smugpup's Universe who has been winning his side of the bracket up to Goku.

It turns out that Smugpup's Universe is full of really strong saturday morning cartoon villains, none of them who are quite as strong as Universe 7's strongest fighters.

Mysterious Smugpup is the only one left standing but hasn't taken part in a fight yet. It turns out that he, despite being a pacifist is the strongest fighter in his own Universe and views himself as a villain due to the fact he can also use God Ki very proficiently, but in defending his own home planet, he also ended up destroying it because of his ridiculous power, and now blames himself for it.

Disillusioned by this turn of events he had asked the Kai of his universe to fashion the two earrings he wears to lock his power away. During the fight however he sees Goku as the bigger threat to all Universes, and in his base form with both earrings on is able to keep up with Goku until SSJ3, of which Smugpup has to take off one of his earrings.

After this it is obvious that Smugpup has the upper hand against SSJ3, and Goku inevitably powers up to Blue / his latest form. Smugpup starts to lose against him, but refuses to remove his other earring out of fear of his own power.

Goku being the retarded chump that he is only wants a fight and removes the last earring by force and crushes it. As a result Goku gets BTFO even in his strongest form, referencing to when Vegeta let Cell absorb 17 and 18.

However Goku is not the final fighter of his Universe, but Vegeta is. Vegeta shows himself to generally be a better person than Goku, so Smugpup throws the fight, entrusting the wish to Vegeta / U7, to Zeno's disappointment who promptly deletes Smugpup and his Universe.

Goku then takes this wish selfishly for himself and "Wishes for all the Universes Zeno destroyed to be restored" not out of empathy or sympathy towards the lives he got deleted, but because he was unsatsified with losing to Smugpup and wants to get stronger.
This vague wish ends up in the 6 Universes which Zeno destroyed pre-Super getting restored. It so happens that these Universes had ridiculously destructive and powerful beings that now are a threat to the other Universes, putting the multiverse in yet another dire situation.
Zeno just tells Goku that his wish is granted and that he has to deal with his own problems.
Smugpup, now brought back to life wishes not to return to his Universe out of fear and loathing for himself and instead takes up Gohan and Piccolo's offer to stay with them and train with them. In Gohan and Piccolo's case to become stronger, and in Smugpup's case to learn to control his power.
Gohan and Piccolo as a result become relevant in the story again after the God Ki powerboost they receive from the training.
Enter filler hyjinks of where the 3 of them have to rotate looking after Pan in between training, and Smugpup's social awkwardness and his inability to stop himself from blowing everything up, causing them to constantly undo the damage using the regular dragonballs.
Plot moves onto dealing with the threat caused by Goku wishing back the other Universes. All other universes also get cameos and are relevant because they have to defend their own universes from the big bad whatever.

After the big bad is done and dealt with, they require new Gods of Destructions for the 6 accidentally restored Universes. Goku, Vegeta and Smugpup are elected due to their destructive capabilities. Goku being the totally stalwart individual he is declines because he just wishes to fight Smugpup and other strong fighters, Vegeta says no and has a family to return to, Smugpup initially declines but is pushed into the role after Vegeta has the smart idea of using the rule that GoDs aren't allowed to fight each other.

Vegeta convinces Goku because he's fed up of his shit to become a GoD and saying that he will have the ability to freely travel to any Universe he desires to find strong opponents. Vegeta also whispers to Smugpup that GoDs are not allowed to fight each other and Smugpup takes up the offer, seeing Goku as a non-evil liability that needs to be dealt with.

Goku realizes this rule too late and has already undergone the ritual to become a GoD meaning he can no longer fight his intended opponent who is also a GoD now. Chi-Chi however is proud of Goku for having a job now, even if it is being a GoD and that he will never be at home anymore because phbbbt like that makes any difference to how it was before.

Series ends with Goku eternally cockblocked from his fighting boner, Smugpup just continues accidentally destroying shit with his obscene amount of power, and the other Universes are rid of Goku's problematic behaviour.

Goku's far dumber, less serious, and more amoral than he was as a 12 year old. Toriyama played up Goku's ignorance, most of which was delivered dead pan, for the Pilaf Saga, but in Red Ribbon most of the humor didn't come from Goku's stupidity but from the incompetence and bizarre quirks of guys like Ninja Murasaki and General Blue.

What I'm saying is SSB is no longer significantly stronger than SSJ3 because Goku absorbed God power, it seems that everything has become closer together. SSJ Goku is clearly not 50x stronger than base Goku like it was against Frieza for example. SSJ Goku now seems to be about as strong as SSG and even base does not seem much weaker than SSB anymore.

Besides, they're gonna run out of new stuff at some point. Ignoring the current arc going on, what do they have left? Tagoma is the only major Super character prior to the current arcthat isn't already confirmed for DLC that would work. From Z, theres Gero, 20 and the Super Buu forms. Bojack and 13 for movies. I guess theres still some GT stuff they can work in to.

But there is still a limited pool to work with.

Not really. The original Heroes manga had that premise because Heroes at that point didn't really have a story at all. They just threw anything they wanted there with no logic or reason after they had included most real characters and transformations.

The current demon realm stuff that they've been doing for a while now has nothing to do with a videogame or simulation. They're just Heroes own take on continuations of the Dragonball Online and Xenoverse 1 stories, which is why you see new characters and stuff like Xeno Goku, Xeno Vegeta, etc.

They also got progressively more detailed - like how the first stories were just excuses to throw random characters together, which is why there was stuff like SSJ3/4 Broly appearing out of nowhere and Gohan going SSJ4.

But now they even release cards for the actual Heroes versions of the characters, separate from the Z/GT/Super ones, with the "Xeno" cards.

They also still have random separate stories though, like the Saiyan invasion where everyone is a SSJ3, which is from where SSJ3 Raditz and Nappa come from. So, random transformations aren't completely ruled out, just more unlikely.

What makes that unlikely now is that they've mostly stopped introducing random characters/forms just for the sake of it, and even when they do they're tied to stories. So, a SSJ Pan most likely would only appear if they introduced a Xeno Pan first, or wanted to make some what if story involving GT's characters, rather than just randomly throwing her in.
