Why is Berserk the greatest manga of all time? Have you read

That's pretty much it. I'd say I like the above two better than Berserk, but I'm just a sucker for grizzled protagonists with an iron will.

Considering how subjective art is, i never like to hold something as the singular pinncle of a medium/genre. For example, something comparable for me personally would be JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (seriously, and i'm not a JoJo memer).

The most technically skilled illustrators are generally unimaginative autists. Look at literally any of the greatest artists of all time and they don't just look like photos. Things like flow and direction, visual drama are key when illustration is tied with a narrative and Araki is a master of engaging the reader visually, although there are plenty of people who are better at flow than him, like prime DBZ era Toriyama.

OP, I love Berserk as much as the next guy and I'm such a faggot I actually bought all the volumes released so far, but it's hardly the best manga ever. It's well drawn and it has its moments, but it's painfully obvious how Miura changed his perspective on things halfway through the manga and it all suffered from it. I liked the part about Griffith wrecking shit left and right but to be honest I found the whole ship trip to be atrocious and fuck me sideways am I tired of the RPG party. To be quite honest, I like what he did with Guts' character, I just don't like the way he did it. Unless the party is going to painfully die because of the bejelit (I will suck miura's dick if that happens) I don't see any remedy to that.

It didn't help that for a very long time chapters were coming out months if not years apart, I'm sure that someone who read it all in one go has a different view on things.


Monster and Vagabond, just to name two very famous ones, are arguably better than Berserk

There is only one God and his name is Miyazaki. Nausicaa is finished, it doesn't suffer from pacing issues, it's well drawn, original with a great ending. Sorry Berserk, but Nausicaa is the best fantasy manga of all time (or maybe even the best manga of all time).

As far as art is concerned, chinks tend to be very autistic about it. Feng Shen Ji, Song of the Long March, Ravages of Time all have fantastic art. RoT in my opinion is top 5 when it comes to character action.

Conviction arc is as good as golden. Falconia arc is when quality starts going to shit but still has some good moments. Fantasia is just fuck my shit up but i still have the hope that all this gay shit about fairy island and rpg like parties goes to hell like in the eclipse and berserk goes back to normal.
