Personally my favorite thing about Freeza is purely how he plays off of Goku. He's his opposite in almost every way, to the point that they're very similar.

Freeza was born strong, he's gifted and unmatched, which caused him to have a very haughty, elegant way of speaking juxtaposed with his horrifying power. He's never been matched in strength and thus has never truly had to struggle.


Goku by contrast was born weak and had to build his strength to where it is now over his life. He was raised very low class and so he talks very casual and speaks like a hick. Goku's strength actually comes FROM his ability to get beaten, build up from there and learn from mistakes.(sometimes)


Despite the fact that they're polar opposites, Freeza and Goku both yearn to have a good fight. Freeza could've easily killed Goku as soon as it had begun, but because he'd never seen anyone able to match him so closely He wanted to drag it out as long as possible. They were both enjoying their fight for a majority of it, that is until shit started getting too real

(Goku hitting Freeza with the Spirit Bomb, Freeza blowing up Krillin) that they started taking it much more seriously.

The problem with your juxtaposition of Goku and Freezer is that it's based on things that weren't relevant or even mentioned during the time these characters got their major development. Freezer didn't mention that he never had to train in his life due to his genes during his actual arc. Nor did Goku ever bemoan his upbringing. And the fact that Goku got trained by the greatest martial artists of his time contradicts the point you were trying to make about him starting at the buttom, whereas Freezer started at the top. We didn't know where Freezer started until much later, and Goku was never depicted as a low class until much later.
