The problem is that black disappeared entirely when he fused with Zamasu, and Zamasu wasn't well developed. Fused Zamasu should've been more crazy instead of being so composed, i know he went full bananas at the end but he lacked the joy in battle that Black got, the fact that he was only half immortal because of Black and that was his "weakness" was good, but i think it would've been better if it was shown through his actions, him not abusing opportunities to win because he wanted to enjoy the fight more, until someone throws into his face and he goes nuts.

Black did get some good development, even if you had to read in between the lines to get it, but the way he had a sadistic battle lust to him because of his saiyan body was great.

With Zamasu they needed to show us more about his character and how he went from "ningens are bad" all the way to "DEUS VULT I'M ANGRY! ANGRY ABOUT NINGEN!" and then all the way to complete insanity when he went "It doesn't matter if i'm half ningen taking in this sins is what a true god would do i'm tru justice everything i do is true justice because i'm the one"

Honestly i think all the pieces are there to make Zamasu a 10/10 villain, the execution was just a bit flawed. Maybe the manga will do it better, Zamasu seems to be getting more of a spotlight than Black, but i think they already messed up by not having him fight Goku or some other ningen before he went full deus vult.

It would've been great if he saw the Hit vs Goku fight in kami tube only to then fight Goku himself later on after Beerus and Whis are investigating, and then Goku accidentally throws a hurtful comment at him like "i expected more from a god" which makes him internally ree so hard it all starts tumbling down. It would also have made more sense because this way it would've shown that Zamasu would've been a villain anyway regardless of his fight with Goku.

The problem with black holes is the time dilation. If Zamasu actually fell into it, time would dilate so much that if he even takes the time to blink inside the event horizon, by the time he comes out the universe would have ended. There's also that c is the escape velocity at the event horizon, we have no idea what it is inside of it. In theory, space should stop existing as only movement in one direction is possible, leaving only the time axis, basically turning spacetime into a one-dimensional thing.

In DB terms I imagine someone who can destroy the universe can manage fine, but that's still just speculation.

That's not really true. Even though Freeza is retconned into being tied to the Saiyan Saga stuff, he's only actually mentioned right before appearing.

Depends on your opinion of filler.
Reading the manga is great for pacing but lacks the full experience of an anime.
Anime I felt like fast forwarding through a lot of padding and filler.
Alternatively you could watch the Path to Power recap movie but it changes thing up a bit but it's still worth checking out if you don't have the patience to grind it all out.
When in doubt read the manga or know what to skip because there's lots of dragging on that youll encounter.

The Goku and Vegeta show is still better than the Goku show guest starring Gohan, with the Z Warriors as minor appearances. At least I don't have to constantly hear how amazing Gohan's potential is simply for being a hybrid and how stronger he is to the majority of the characters, even the ones that bother to train, unlike him. All the while being lectured by how he hates fighting in a fighting show, how he doesn't even to be there, and how moral he is to the other characters because he doesn't want to fight.
