Ice dancing doesn't really take a tool on one's body as much as skating. There are no throws or jumps. Ice dancing it's about synchronization so you don't crash with the other person, it's exactly ballroom dancing over ice.

Victor is going back to skating mainly to motivate Yuuri to continue skating because Yuri went batshit insane and was gonna sent off Victor to Russia to continue skating even though he wanted to keep coaching Yuri, and if he's gonna skate then Yuuri has to be physically there because otherwise the only thing that would keep him motivated is gone.

Yuri is asking him to be his coach while Victor is preparing himself.

It might be because I'm a pigfat but I'm glad he's not retiring, that's the thing I needed the most from the ending along with him not getting a gold because of MC powers, I wanted Victor to stay as his coach because it seemed like the best resolution for both of them, but sadly that didn't happen.

What I want the most from a S2 is shenanigans with the other skaters like the ones from Cup of China and with Yuuri retiring that wouldn't be possible. Also, dynamic between the Yuris is one of the best thing in this series in my opinion and now they're training together it could be really nice and Yurio would connect to more people as well.

The Great Passage is airing this season, married characters, 0 kisses. The main couple had almost zero intimacy.

After much consideration, I really have no idea how to make S2 as interesting as S1. The relationship drama is resolved (unless they want to recycle the same things over and over), there is no point in introducing overpowered rivals, because JJ is already there and he is a monster, Yuuri's anxiety seems to be on its path to resolution, we already know Victor's motives etc.
The only thing that would surprise me at this point would be Kubo going full gay and FABULOUS.
