This is the first time I have supported Funi's decisions publicly, and the staff at Funi is now amazing. It's a completely different company.

Sabbat and Sean don't have control over how DB is dubbed. They're not even officially part of the company (Funimation) that handles the English release of DB. They're freelancers who are told by some corporate entity to do things in exact detail of what they demand, or they get terminated, replaced, and blacklisted from the industry.

Goku existence -> Black existence -> Trunks travel

In the anime, Zamasu meet Goku because they fight, and they fight because Trunks is in the past again, which makes no sense.
Goku and Zamasu fight -> Black existence -> Trunks travel -> Goku and Zamasu fight -> Black existence...

I have friends that work in commercials, the actors who do the voice overs usually don't get the luxury of determining of how a line is delivered, especially involving its overall direction. Most directors are very specific of how lines are delivered in tone, dialogue, and what words should be used.

I even remember a dub actor, Vic Mignogna, who even complained about how typed role he is, because everyone hates his Elric voice, and the directors oppose him when he wants to deviant from that voice. He can do more than that, but his mostly only hired for that voice. That and Broly.

Thats why the rumor stuck, no one knew where it came from until years later when other VAs confessed the behind the scenes crap.
This was like 04-07.
Vic's married now, I believe, and hasn't had the rumors for awhile.
Personally, i think it was just people trying to get the subject of Vic's age to come up, since he used to hide it aggressively.
Basically, they make their competitors be toxic for PR, and they get the jobs he was in line for.
