Is making JoJo references a good icebreaker at college?

JoJo seems to be quite popular with normies nowadays, so I thought it might get me some friends or a gf
For example, when everyone is introducing him or herself and it's my turn, I would say
"You thought it was Siggi, but it was DIO!" Then I would smirk at the other nerds who understood my reference.
Or I could say "OH MY GOOOOOD" whenever something epic happens. If a girl asks me "Why are you like that? :)" I could reply with "I'm Jotaro Joestar, but you can call me JoJo!"

Is this a good idea? Does anyone know more references (I only watch the anime)
