Although it did not have dynamically changing elements that follows the stories progression.

The big brass jazz swing of 'Battle Tendency' trumps all by sheer groove factor. I honestly thing this is when Jojo was at it's most pure and best. There was still some other worldly powers such as Hamon and Vampirism and Pillar men. Meanwhile it was still based primarily on physical strength and cunning. Rather then flavor of the week random rule set thrust upon the MC to asspull out of. Speaking of which Battle Tendency had the BEST asspulls because they could easily be real thought out actions as much as asspulls. That is what made the chapter so charming. You rooted for Joseph not because he was the strongest, or the faster, or the most powerful. He won because he was a goofy fucker that thought on his feet to win the day while being selfish even when he appeared selfish.

Different seasons. Part 1 and 2 were adapted as one season of 26 episodes since that was what they decided would be the best pacing. Part 3 was a separate project that aired 2 years later and was 48 episodes because it was longer than 1 and 2 combined, as are all the Parts after it but it was still kind of slow paced. They've gone back to 13 episode cours for Part 4 and only 3 cours to combat the feeling of Part 3 being too slow but Part 4 in the manga is longer than Part 3 so it feels really rushed.

Basically they keep changing it trying to hit the sweet spot on the amount of content they can adapt per episode without rushing or dragging shit out, and it's not produced continually so they can experiment with different pacing between seasons.

It starts of that way but as it goes along Araki manages to write convincing characters and mor complex themes without sacrificing the silliness but rather the silliness and seriousness enhance each other. It has probably the best mix of comedy and seriousness from any manga I've read, and Araki does a great job at making things equally ridiculous but also cool and tense without ever taking itself too seriously or not taking itselt at all seriously. Definitely worth a read or watch, though be warned with the anime; it's still very good but not quite as good as the manga and so far it's only like 8 years worth of content into the 30 years of content the series has, so it'll take a very long time to catch up to the manga.

Pretty starved. Being on a monthly schedule makes Araki's yearly break painful since there's always one month a year he doesn't do a chapter. It's been two months since the last chapter and it introduced a bunch of cool plot developments and then ended right on the beginning of a new fight. I don't even watch the anime. I think David is doing a terrible job from the few episodes I've seen (up to Rohan part 1). There is no reason to watch the anime if you've read the manga as the manga is straight up better in every aspect.

Nigger do you know how pre-7 Araki even functions? (Hell, it even happens in SBR and JJL too, even if to a smaller extent). In this particular case, it might not be as obvious on a weekly release, but having a single SOL arc (episode) between two arcs AGAINST THE MAIN VILLAIN destroys the pacing. Maybe I would agree with you if there were a bit more arcs, so it would be a breather period... but it's simply not the case

A good adaptation knows what to cut and what to add. Characters talking endlessly becomes tiresome. Jojo is lucky, because its action translateanon-sama very well into animation, in fact they become better than in the manga by simple virtue of animation. Just look at the Wham fight in the colosseum, or any time Silver Chariot does anything. By wanting a literal adaptation, you are indirectly disrespecting the original, by wanting choices that simply don't work as well in animation, negating improvements (even if as minor as these) and, more directly, insulting animation and cinematography by implying they're worthless on their own; seeing them as subsets for other stories.

Great Days I'd say is on par with Chase foreshadowing-wise, just in a different manner.
Chase's method of foreshadowing is similar to the OPs for parts 1-3 in that it's obvious you're being spoiled about something, just that you don't know -what's- being spoiled.
Great Days is more subtle in comparision. Unless you already know what BTD's effects are, you normally won't think of reversing the visuals of an OP. Animeonlies will be left completly in the dark until cookies n cream Kira shows up and reverses the OP, then everything clicks together.
