Izetta's dedication to Fine has bitten her numerous times, and one of the arching points being made is that when higher powers mix with mortals serious consequences follow.
Izetta coming to terms, maturing and taking a leave, even if it's with the promise to reunite when Elystadt is on more stable grounds, seems like a far more fitting and well-built ending than "HIME-SAMA I LOVE YOU, LETS BE TOGETHER FOREVER", a'la the last ten episodes.
