Because it's not an adaptation, it's a shitty American remake. But instead of remaking a psychological horror film, or subdued samurai movie, they are remaking a recognized masterpiece of animation into a ghostless shell of a flick, a cash in with some ugly ass people to fill in the roles. This is the epitome of hollywood turnaround, turning something with some soul or history or artistic merit into an easily digestible product intended for the lowest common denominator.

So I've just watched SAC (well, rewatched really, but catchign it on TV without paying attention doesn't count), and this whole part pissed me off. Fuck Section 9. Why did they go this far? In the end I was rooting for the "bad" guys.
