Yeah, if Yuuri was actually that semen demon at the banquet, they probably would have fucked on the first night and their relationship would probably follow the same pattern as Victor's other relationships. Yuuri being who he is and not remembering that night forced Victor to actually know the guy and made Victor learn how to really care for someone, which he straight up said that he never did.

Also, I did like that he also in turn decided to take a more passive role in the relationship as well. Yuuri is a naturally passive guy but being passive all the time doesn't work (see the whole Yuuko situation). Victor probably realizes that Yuuri has to be the one to make the moves in the relationship to be more confident in himself and with the both of them. Because Victor could easily commandeer the relationship and it would have probably made Yuuri more anxious than anything. Although Victor isn't completely passive and would push if needed.

Seriously, Kubo is a pretty good writer.
