The last full season of anything I watched was One Punch Man. I started watching the Gate anime but it feels so different from the manga that I don't really enjoy it but I'll finish it. Some anime now seem too childish for me to watch, something I never thought I'd feel. It really stood out when I tried to watch an episode of that orange autistic hamster cunt and I really didn't like it at all. Other than OPM and Gate the last one was the AoT anime and that was years ago. Whereas I'm caught up on Berserk and a good few dozen other manga series and completed some as well since then.

At first I only read things that didn't get the adaptation. Then I read source material instead of watching adaptations. Now I realize I can't fucking stand these poorly directed "moving" pictures. Even the action is better in manga. Fucking action.

There are only a handful of original anime that could compete. The sheer amount of good manga makes it the superior medium. Especially now more than ever when anime are just 12 episode commercials of manga and originals dont get made that often.

Not reading manga is a sign of low IQ

If you don't read manga you're depriving yourself of like 80% of the best works of fiction Japanese drawn media has to offer.

For every one really great anime there are at least 4 really great manga simply because the manga industry is so much bigger and can support so many more authors creating works.
Even if anime sold as well as manga, the far higher production costs would limit as many great works of fiction from being produced.

I think I wouldnt be exaggertating if I said that manga after japanese novels are probably their highest form of story telling art. Japanese film peaked 50-70s before manga really hit it off. And Anime has always been too restricted and nowadays too commercialized. In manga anyone with talent will be able to publish his works somewhere if not online > see ONE with OPM and Mob Psycho.
