So one thing this scene seems to be telling us is that just prior to the series Cocona and Yayaka were indeed closer then we were lead to believe, and Cocona made the classic mistake of getting so swept up with the new girlfriend that she neglected her friends.

I get the feeling that Cocona realised that at the end which is why she stopped fighting and basically let herself get kicked the fuck out.

Hopefully it's leading up to Cocona clearly defining the boundary between friends and lovers. It'll also help if Papaya stop trying to kill each other.

I'm not enjoying the last few episodes.

Papika is harder to sort out. Pic related to me says romanitc especially considering how different it was from the other times Papika used the word Suki which were ambiguous at best. I think Papika's character arc which we are now entering will have her come to realize her feelings much like Cocona did.


Realistically I think both Papika and Cocona love each other romantically but the gap comes from them expressing it differently / having trouble expressing themselves so they don't realize that the other feels the same way yet. I think -that- will be the final bridge they cross at the end.

Episode 7 was important because they specifically broached the topic of romantic love with succubus Papika asking Cocona why she would be asking about platonic love. Since that Papika was basically a mirror of Cocona's own mind feeding questions to itself, Cocona clearly recognized that what she was feeling was well and beyond platonic otherwise why would she need to question it?

Beyond that may require yuri goggles since it isn't explicit in the script but the only word I have to describe the faces Cocona makes in these two scenes is "smitten."

I think it's also pretty telling about their relationship that this happened.

I do think we can call FF as 3hz's signature work because Sora no Method (SnM) was totally not their original concept and it was a mess.

Granted 3hz is not as big as Trigger who can produce everything in-house for their signature work KLK. But it would be unfair to call 3hz just contract grunts if you actually identify there is a consistent creative core team who make this show, which I think consist of Takayuki Nagatani (producer at Infinite, produced SnM, Shirobako, now FF), Kiyotaka Oshiyama (freelancer director, original concept of FF, key animator of SnM), and 3hz (animation for SnM, FF). I do believe if FF is a success they will collaborate on similar projects in the future.

I don't want to go too off-topic, but I'll just say Sora no Method proves 3hz's animation quality. It was a mess because its original concept and script by Naoki Hisaya were total shite.
