Because Fusions are mostly archetype focused, and DDD has low synergy with out of archetype Xyz (all the more since it isn't a r4nk deck).

However, the most powerful synchros tend to be the splashable badass ones and DDD has high special summons and decent variety of levels on those. Not to mention they can manipulate grave well. While not good for Xyz (since the materials wont get to grave right away), this allows them to summon powerful out-of-archetype synchros easily.

Hell, with regular hands you can get Crystal Wing and Siegfried on the first turn. With great hands you end with Cystal Wing, Siegfriend, TG Librarian and 4 cards drawn!

Alexandre is perfect to set up other plays and Siegfried is a living once-per-turn negator

I find it funny that the main writer of ARC-V hates duels which explains why they've been so dull and boring. Ono is literally a director that starts off great/promising and ends up completely missed(2nd half Symphogear GX and Post 64 of 5D's can be seen seen as examples).

I just had an idea for something they could do for the next series of yugioh. Since we got cards that can also be treated as spells with pendulum monsters, what if they made half white half black cards that can be treated as synchros or xys monsters depending on what you use to summon them. The cards would be split in two colors like pendulum monsters, and they would have two summoning requirements, one for an xyz summon and one for a synchro summon, so depending on what you use to summon it, its treated as that type. Also had an idea for half blue half purple fusion ritual monsters, but i'm not sure if they should go in the main deck or the extra deck.

Really? Doesn't seem that complicated to me to learn how pendulums work. But everyone is differant and some understand things better than others. But anyways, i can see how my ideas are complicated to implement on a single card, pendulums already have a tone of extra text due to how they are made. So making cards with two differant summoning requirements would probably be a nightmare in practice.

Remember when people freaked the hell out at Odd Eyes Rebellion Dragon's debut calling it broken for having a field wipe and extra attacks to match?

if Odd Eyes Rebellion Dragon had been printed as a generic, didn't need an xyz monster as material and could detach it's overlay units to activate the field wipe burn and attack effect it still wouldn't of been much of a threat, a pain in the ass maybe but not the broken monster everyone was scared when it debuted.

If OERD could detach 1 material, destroy all monsters your opponent controls and gained an extra attack for each while being generic it'd be broken. Rank 7 is easy enough to make and people would have no problem building a deck around a monster that can instantly end games.

It bothers me alot, Yuya's fusion pendulum will be Zarc, who likely can't be summoned at all besides using the 4 dragons or the magicians modeled after them making Nirvana High Paladin the only pendulum extra deck monster somewhat worth using and it only appeared once in the series

Except Rebellion and Raging have more uses than Nirvana solely because they are Odd-Eyes pendulums kept in the extra deck since the start of the game. They can be summoned by Absolute or fused from the extra via Odd-Eyes fusion at least.

Zarc has an entire structure that can easily summon him and without it is already meta viable.

While Nirvana just sucks that bad. It's a waste to summon it most of the times to begin with due to needing a synchro in first place while a person would be much better off summoning another synchro in addition to the previous one that gets shit done.

We know how this has to end.

Even with taking into account the nostalgia factor, I really doubt that the fans of Crow and Kaito from their original series liked their Arc-V representation either.

I'm also sure that Shun would have been screwed anyways, Ruri was still brainwashed after their duel and he got knocked out by some random tazer/stun gun afterwards.

Well, I always thought they still kept the "once per turn" clause for negation effects. Things like Left/Right Magician Hands and other shit followed that trend.

Suffice to say, the writers went a bit overboard with animeGameLogic with so many convenient cards for Yuri, be it that transcendant fusion or both spells using opponent spell cards as cost.

Usually, that kind of duel have some solid structure with some whacky stuff (i.e Reiji VS Yuya #2), but this duel felt particularly bland, with OP cards thrown left and right than really a good duel flow. Yuri's shenanigans felt more BS than usual YGO standards except if you compare with Yusei Jesus.

Dude, dude, dude. First off - most of the decks nowadays are technically budget decks. What is expensive are staples AND the extra. So, if you want to build a good synchro deck, you are basically not building budget unless you can affort a Crystal Wing and not have the staples.

Blackwings are slow. If you want a fun deck, somewhat viable and budget, I would recommend you build Odd-Eyes Magician or some sort of variant. DDD, too, is a nice deck currently.

But yeah, most meta decks will have overexpensive cards. As long as you don't mind not having staples like Dimensional Barrier or Pot of Desires, you will be fine

It's a risk sometimes, others it isn't. Drawing two cards most of the times decides games, but I have already seen a fair share of people that lost due to banishing stuff that shouldn't be from the deck (ABC banned 3 Assault Cores, HERO banned all Mask Changes etc.)

Requiem is a threat in BAPK since they can actually search the RUM and it isn't an ''once per turn'' negation. Holy fuck, it was insane to take that thing out once and the motherfucker summoned two Xyz from the grave and used the reborn Rebellion for another Requiem.

As for Greedy, he suffers the Starving Venom problem: heavy nerf when arrived IRL. Luckily, there is a predaplant that fuses itself with a mosnter in field or hand. It should be used to summon Greedy, but BA is using it for Rafflesia, kind of how they are using speedroids for r3nk.

The main problem is Academia really wasn't much of a threat after Standard. You literally have characters constantly treated poorly left/right especially the villians that had potential and ones that are filler(Solo, Sun/Moon Jobber) and of course BB. Yuri had a bunch of potential the problem was they used him as a damn running gag for bracelet-kun until the final act to use him. He's not favored nor overpowered he's just stuck in a room with useless morons.
