Maybe a Gendo Ikari style planning game would be cool. You're a war commander or whatever, and the win condition for the end of the game is your plan to come to fruition that you inputted at the start of the game.

So you could lose fights, or have characters die, if you think it will result in overall plan success in the end.

A WW1 game where the player is a reluctant soldier drafted into the British Army. Combat will involve the player having to switch between a ranged stance and a melee stance depending on the situation. A ranged stance involve the use of shooting or grenades to take out enemies. A melee stance will involve the use of melee tactics such as the rifle as a club or a spear or the use of a spade as a sort of sword or battle axe.

Differing weapons will have differing stats and uses
>rifles are slow to fire and reload since it is bolt action but has high accuracy and range
>submachine guns do small damage but can suppress enemies at short range
>Machine guns are destructive but can overheat and can only be fired prone
>specialized auto-weapons like a BAR will have high recoil and can be only fired if there is a cover to mitigate recoil. Accuracy is also low
>anti tank rifles and rocket guns are powerful against vehicles but can only fired prone and if equipped will reduce the player's speed.

Melee combat will be somewhat akin to For Honor where the player must block strikes from enemies. Or if they are reluctant to do so, weapons like shotguns and submachine guns exist. Campaigns will also focus on teamplay where the player is not a one man army but a part of a unit.

And done, I just created the basis of a good WW1 game

It will have anime aesthetics like Valkyria Chronicles.

The plot will have romance in it where the MC is forced to part with his fiancee and survive the war in order to be reunited with her. Combat will be brutalized to emphasize the horrors of war and there will be little if not none, heroism. Soldiers from both sides are simply pushed to fight by the squabbles of the ruling classes rather than for any actual heroism or defense. The ending will not be sweet either. The MC's finance is married to one of his childhood friend who didn't get drafted and manufactures weapons for the soldiers to use and it will simply show MC in a parade chastising a child who sees him as a hero.

A boy falls in love with a girl.

Boku no Hero game that combines elements of dating sim with platform/beat em up

You design a character and are given two random abilities. Then you have to try and work through the selection process to be admitted into the hero academy. From there the game would alternate between missions and training levels with parts in between that play like a dating sim where you interact with your classmates.

The relationships you form in between missions effects the way the way the NPCs interact with you. If you're nice to a character they are more likely to help you out and if you befriend them by interacting with them enough they can form groups with you during missions. Getting a gf/bf in the game gives you an even more helpful ally(gives them some stat boost) but might negatively affect your relationship with other characters who might be jealous.

Deathnote game sort of like Scribblenauts. A city with a preset list of residents who you can kill. A point and click game where you can move around from screen to screen and talk to people and discover their names, or read newspapers to find criminals.

Over time, L will home in on you, as the game figures out your patterns. As well, people get less forthright about giving out names.

You have a randomized lifespan and thusly can make the eye deal if you wish.

There are random traps set by L that can ensnare you if you aren't careful. Or hell, just make it multiplayer I dunno.
