It's still a decent way to explain basic quantum mechanics whether you like it or not.
It was how Einstein would explain it. And while Schrodingers' explanation was a satire of Einsteins' it's still decent regardless.

I think the bigger problem I have with when they use Schrodinger's Cat is that they could instead use Quantum Suicide which is more in line with what they're trying to describe.
And it would also stop the autists from making these threads.
