Nope. Despite being the female lead and showing up in literally every single episode, Kotori had ZERO imapct on the plot or on other characters in any way. The only instance I can think of where removing Kotori would make a difference was that time she slapped Yuma to knock some sense into him, but I'm pretty sure Tetsuo or someone else could have taken that role.

Kotori's VA was contractually obligated to be in every episode and even then they didn't do anything with her, besides fanservice.
Even for a non-duelist character that is pretty bad. Fucking Anzu had more going for her as a character than Kotori did.

I think Zarc is more of a evil entity of his own. I mean we already know it's most likely the darkness that regularly tries to engulf Yuya/Yuu's whenever they go full on berserk.
