Vol 11 (3 days of sales)
Regular Edition - 69,920
Special Edition - 24,800
Total - 94,720
I'm surprised the BD sold that much and that they didn't have any stock issues.
>Zenberu, on the other hand, was being cradled like a princess by one of the undead.
I'm imagining a lizardman being princess carried by the dread cavalier.
It's shit. Overlord confirmed for imminent cancellation.
Well it's a book, so the production cost isn't very high. Plus there's no real end goal in sight so they can continue milking it for a while provided the quality doesn't tank.
"I wonder if Bukubukuchagama-sama felt the same way?"
Isn't Aura just straight up dissing Peroronchino? I wonder if he would get off of having Bubuku force Aura to insult him and get embarrassed while calling him names.
>yen press vol 2
Do you think "Message" will be used against Nazarick at any point in the future? I mean the cons of it have been referenced 3 times now and Ainz and the Guardians tend to use it without any regard thus far. Or does the aura Ainz projects to the NPC's and POP apply to the spell as well?
Ainz wants to have a utopia with all the races living together, but don't they all speak different languages? It seems Ainz has forgotten since he has auto-translate on. How will they communicate? Will they implement Japanese teaching programs?
That's something I think about every time they mention message. At this point considering how often they also talk about how message can be manipulated I would be surprised if nothing comes up about it happening to Ainz.
I think the frequency with which they mention the drawbacks of message means that there will never be a time where nazarick screws up with it
I think the time it will be used against nazarick is luring Ainz into a trap. Remember how Fluder keeps demanding that Ainz teleport to his location to confirm that Ainz is the one doing it? What if a bunch of gankers force Fluder to talk while they lay an ambush at the location?
I guess they learned it some point while off screen? Demiurge in particular seems to be sent on a lot of missions outside of Nazarick so he possibly picked up on a lot of new languages.
I would actually be surprised if some incident occurred due to 'Message'. At least when Ainz recalls stories from Yggdrasil, there are never stories where 'Message' caused any problems. And from the looks of it, not many people from NW use it.
We don't know the complete extent of their abilities. They could have minor skills that allowed them to decipher the texts in some way.
Demigure probably simply tortured the knowledge out of the Empire's workers they captured.
>How retarded are they to screw up with this one though?
You say that already knowing what they did with volume 1? Now just imagine if YP dared to challenge Youjo Senki and all that technical jargon.
I think the difference is that in-game [Message] identified who was casting it so you couldn't trick people with it. Magic in the NW is more natural so it sounds like demons speaking into your head.
Like, it would be pretty spoopy to have someone going "Killfrenzy Killfrenzy Killfrenzy" into someone else's head 24/7 (relay of casters)
Doesn't Ainz have a pair of translation glasses? I remembered it being mentioned in one of the earlier volumes, but I don't recall if he had multiples.
Didn't all the workers die? I only remember the cleric being left for memory manipulation experiments and he sounds like he's brain dead now.
Of his party only Arche died, the rest gets eternal suffering.
And then there is a worker from another group who got a 10 yen sticker from CZ and so the pleiades asked Ainz to spare him. (Twitter , author says that CZ gives 10 yen stickers to people she likes and she gave one to one of the workers).
>And then there is a worker from another group who got a 10 yen sticker from CZ and so the pleiades asked Ainz to spare him. (Twitter , author says that CZ gives 10 yen stickers to people she likes and she gave one to one of the workers).
Do you know which worker she gave it to? Cause other than Arche I can't figure out which one looks cute enough for Shizu to pick them. I wonder if that worker will be featured in a future novel?
What tier of magic is 'Message'? I don't remember anyone in ST or the Kingdom using it. If I remember correctly, it used to be used in the Empire, but they stopped using the spell after a certain incident. The only NW person we've seen use it is Fluder right? And he's supposedly the strongest magic user.
Wait wait, young? I thought everyone in old man's party was like in their 40s, just 'young' compared to the old geezer. Do you remember if the rogue was young?
If so, I better start re-reading cause I found another excuse.
That's what I'm thinking. I don't think Ainz would be bothered even if he fell into a trap by teleportation given how cautious he is even teleporting into Fluder's room cause of his ingrained PvP basics. The problem here would be the NPC's because Ainz tends to initiate the spell in most cases and the NPC's don't really seem to confirm it's him in every case. I doubt someone like Demiurge or Albedo would fall for it but what about the less questioning Guardians?
[Message] is apparently pretty basic shit since it serves the role of the game's /whisper function.
It would also require the caster to imitate Papa Bones' voice. Or something. It may not have come up at all in YGG due to identity theft laws.
The member of Heavy Masher that survived the cockroach room was teleported to Neuronist Painkill, to extract information from him.
The cleric of Foresight, Roberdyck,
>was skinned, deprived of limbs and became food for monsters, while kept alive via healing magic.
He might still be alive.
Erya's three elven slaves, who formed Tenmu, survived unscratched thanks to their obvious hatred towards their former master. Ainz allowed them to live near the lake in the 6th Floor under the care of Aura and Mare because he believes that they could serve company to Aura and Mare, they might have useful information about the Slane Theocracy, and because they had been technically brought to Nazarick against their will.
>Of his party only Arche died, the rest gets eternal suffering.
I'm pretty sure that the only one who survived was Roberdyck, and even he might be dead by now.
>And then there is a worker from another group who got a 10 yen sticker from CZ and so the pleiades asked Ainz to spare him.
What? I don't remember reading this.
>(Twitter , author says that CZ gives 10 yen stickers to people she likes and she gave one to one of the workers).
Does this appear on the LN, or only mentioned on Twitter?
>He has gone from a meatball to a Philip.
Not him but I thought Ainz was considering it, not that he had done it yet. Wasn't wiping someone's mind clean something he simply pondered about doing to Rober, not what he already did?
I mean, he's still gonna be a vegetable, but as of this point he isn't.
I wonder if 'Message' was actually used as /whisper? Ainz uses a chat to send emoticons at the very beginning doesn't he? Kind of strange to have whisper under a spell. I wonder if there was a /whisper and 'Message' and they served different purposes?
In any case, we've only seen Fluder use 'Message'. Neither the workers or Blue Rose used it from what I recall. So I doubt anyone will be using 'Message' to somehow trick anyone in Nazarick.
Well, Ainz conducted memory alteration experiments on Roberdyck and he is no longer capable of coherent speech. He basically trial and errored through mindfucking and Rob ended up as a vegetable in the process.
Emoticons might be something else. In all the MMOs I've played, you use the same console to send /whispers and have your character display actions.
YGG's console is weird, though. It's a cross between a haptic AR interface and an actual command line console.
>Well, Ainz conducted memory alteration experiments on Roberdyck and he is no longer capable of coherent speech. He basically trial and errored through mindfucking and Rob ended up as a vegetable in the process.
Vegetables don't spout gibberish. They are clean and healthy, just ask Phillip.
>console to send /whispers
Which is why I'm wondering if maybe 'Message' served some other purpose than whispering? Maybe you could only whisper people in the vicinity, but you could use 'Message' for people far away?
Another thing I'm curious about is whether or not 'Message' can be canceled. Obviously you can't really stop someone from typing in whispers, but I assume you would be able to stop someone from casting 'Message'. We've never seen Ainz move while casting it either, so it seems inconvenient for communication during combat.
If that is true, pls start an online petition to ask Yen Press to go fuck themselves.
Just making random theories here, but could it possibly be when she was told to say -san instead of -sama? Instead of "Momon-saaan" in the Japanese version, she says "Mr. Momooon" (she was about to say Momonga but corrected herself).
Doesn't mean that it's a good thing, but I think I can see their bad reasoning.
>tfw all this time I never realized momon was derived from momonga
Yeah that occurred to me when I skimmed parts of it and found the arcane magic caster being changed to magical-type magic user.
They should have tried another way to show the elongated struggle with her trying to avoid the fumbling with the name than just one extra o.
Will the Nazarick NPCs ever learn to see New Worlders as anything more than nuisances/useful tools? or are they forever bound to look down upon them because of their evil alignment?
Ainz can live vicariously though their happiness, Cocytus respects the Lizardmen and Sebas knows the value of human life, but what about the others?
They require more positive exposure to NW humans, when you think about it the NPCs really do act like children, they dont trust anyone besides their parent and believe everything he says.
Socialization during the dwarf mission is going to help Shalltear a lot.
Nigredo and Pestonya protected some babies that got kidnapped by Demiurge/Shalltear. So some of them do value humans.
They also value them as a form of entertainment and food.
>Will the Nazarick NPCs ever learn to see New Worlders as anything more than nuisances/useful tools?
Demiurge - Will respect those who join and work for Nazarick. Otherwise, you're fucked.
Albedo - Looks down on everyone, really. So it's doubtful. Might get chummy with Renner since they have similarities.
Aura & Mare - Might eventually get chummy with some fellow dark elves, maybe?
Shalltear - Not too likely at the moment.
Victim - Seems pretty relaxed. I can see him getting along with others just fine. Not like he'd ever have the opportunity to.
Pandora's Actor - If he takes after his Daddy, he'll be fine.
Yuri - Likely to get along with NWers.
Lupus - I can see her friendship with Enri/Enfi becoming more genuine eventually. Especially with Enri (brief shades of this in Vol. 8). Otherwise, not likely. Too sadistic.
Narbarel - lol
Solution - Considering her hobbies, it isn't likely. But due to her air of professionalism, it won't be much of a hindrance, anyway.
Entoma - Would probably get along fine with other people if they can look past her eating habits. She isn't really that bad a person.
The most important thing is that they have to accept Ainz-sama as their lord and master. Once they do that, they will not offend the Guardians by their very presence.
Then, they can make themselves useful to Nazarick.
He respects intelligence. This is why he recommended Renner, in fact. The fact that he scorns Jircniv is ample proof that Headcanon Emperor isn't as smart as he thinks he is.
Albedo is designed to scorn everyone, but she basically loses it whenever Ainz comes up. Someone who supported her relationship with Ainz could do well.
>Aura & Mare
They're way too obedient to Ainz for the time being... Aura views humans as animals and Mare just doesn't care about them. Elves might be a good way to start making them open up, but a beast tamer and a librarian might be better for getting to know them through their interests.
Shalltear likes girls, so a sufficiently pretty and sadistic one could work. Renner wouldn't because she's Climbsexual, but someone like Princess Lia before she encountered Rance might be able to get along with her.
Victim is pretty chill and benign, he didn't even turn the Death Stare on Tsuare despite her being the possible cause of Sebas' treachery. He probably gives Nemu rides and shows her around the 8th Floor when she sneaks in after asking Lastborn nicely enough.
PA is basically the flamboyant hero persona of Momon, and his job is to brainwash potential insurgents into becoming Ainz fanatics. In that sense, he is a Goebbels.
He and Lakyus ought to bond over their chuuniness.
She and Nigredo will probably be a hit with the kids and the Yurifags.
She treats human beings as toys. Much like Chair, she'd probably bond with someone who could be sadistic enough to amuse her.
Narb instantly softens up whenever anyone praises Ainz. Other than that, it's difficult.
Just as with Chair and Lupu, gotta be sadistic enough to amuse her without making her want to nom you.
She is made for fug. But really, she seems to have self-esteem issues. Someone could exploit them.
Demiurge respects intelligence a lot, but the text has literally said that he's a very kind person to those who are [apart] of Nazarick.
Whether or not that includes new people from the NW kind of remains to be properly seen, I guess. He very obviously wanted to mindbreak Tsuare by making her work in the happy-farm, but that might've just been him fucking with Sebas. It's hard to tell. At the very least he seems interested in the relationship between the two
so he can corrupt their kid
>Narb instantly softens up whenever anyone praises Ainz
Don't forget praising her appearance in comparison to her sisters.
I honestly think Lupu has a tiny thing for Enri. In a sadistic manner, sure, but she also is one of the few people that she's shown her "real" personality too. I can see her eventually becoming actual friends with her. There's that whole stereotype about opposites attracting, and while not always true it's a stereotype for a reason.
I'm inclined to think that Demi was showing tough love to Sebas. He wanted Sebas to basically confess his love for Tsuare in front of Ainz because he knew Ainz would grant almost any request his children asked of him. So he was leading Sebas to basically say, "I want her to serve under me because she is useful", but that was filtered through the lens of "Let's fuck with Sebas".
He didn't actually make any serious arguments about having her serve in the happy farm, probably because he knew Sebas wouldn't be able to refute them.
Yeah, I should have said "praises anyone in Nazarick". She immediately turned nice to Hamsuke (whom she despised) after Hamsuke said Momon looked cool.
Amusingly enough, Chair is about the same height as a dorf.
>Pandora's Actor - If he takes after his Daddy, he'll be fine.
>Ainz visits E-Rantel after some time away
>Sees PA(Momon) playing with some kids
>Feels pride in his son welling up
>PA notices and turns towards his father
>very obviously wanted to mindbreak Tsuare by making her work in the happy-farm, but that might've just been him fucking with Sebas
It was before Ainz accepted her in Nazarick.
While he probably still considers her lower than SB's creations he won't do anything to harm her.
And he was fucking with Sebas. Just like before Gehenna.
I think the funniest part will be PA training the orphanage kids into the Ainzjugend and Ainz has to praise them all because it's not their fault and endure brownshirted orphans heiling and goosestepping around.
I didn't expect that from yoshyoshyosh. What a good girl.
>mfw Maruyama kills off adorable lolis and saves young workers using his Twitter account
I miss muscle-chan. Brita was a cute. A CUTE!
>Piercing Blue Dragon Tusk: Add lightning-type damage
>Piercing White Dragon Tusk: Add ice-type damage
After looking at Martial Arts of that dead old Worker, seems like Lightning Dragons will be blue-colored, if any of them appear, at least.
The NPCs immediately know it is Ainz using Message. In vol 1.
"It connected. This proved that the ‘Message’ spell was working, and that most likely,
it could only contact people within this new world.
『Momonga-sama.』 A voice of deepest respect echoed through his mind. Momonga
considered that Sebas might be bowing to him on the other side of the ‘Message’, like in reallife
companies. Just then, Sebas spoke again, as Momonga was silent from thinking about
these ridiculous things, 『…May I ask if something is wrong?』"
He did not say anything and Sebas knew it was him.
>Slane theocracy tries to lure Ainz
>Ainz uses scrying magic high enough that they dont notice it
>notices the trap
>send a kamikaze Doppelganger in his own form
>in the confusion of the explosion kidnap the enemies
>figures out they are the ones who brainwashed Shalltear
>since they "killed him" he has now a proper reason to cleanse the whole country of those faggots
>Best maid's scream
Truly best maid.
The part of destroying the Staff of AOG it's explained. But, killing the guild master (Momonga) would also destroy the guild? I don't think so, since he died a couple of times in Ygg. Now about erasing him with the WCI how would affect the guild?
Yeah, I can expect that part. But about the process of getting a new guild master.
In Ygg I would guess something like
>guild master's character erased with WCI
>the members started a voting and selected new guild master
>ex-guild master's owner (person irl) crying in the corner of his/her room after spending years on that character
But now in NW, well... maybe a japanese anon would ask his twitter about that.
In NW nothing would happen. Momonga has no special ties with the place Nazarick, so his existence is not related to Nazarick existence.
For what matters, we don't even know if the concept of 'guild' exists in NW.
If Nazarick is only a place occupied by AOG members and AOG members are actually living beings with their own existence, destroying the Staff of AOG would do nothing.
CZ a cute
>without the text
I don't follow you. Have Solution instead
M-my body can't handle such sasuga, Nigel-sama
Already have it, but they released so much so late that I couldn't fully check it all against the JP.
In any case, I'll be doublechecking against the JP before I put the cleaned, finalized chapter on the blogspot. Just consider the pastebin to be something like a draft version.
There's really not a single clean frame of this?
It says exactly that; Ainz is uneasy about his fighting power. My guess is that Sebas isn't as suited to fighting an entire army the way Chair (minmaxed build and strong gear) or Aura (all the monsters) is. He's pretty beastly in one on one fights, though.
People dont use it more because its unreliable more than because they cant. 4th is probably too high considering 3rd is rare and already considered the limit for everyone who isnt special.
do you think yuri keeps the gauntlets on when baithing or fuging?
Inspiration for the moles/kugoa
Wrong link sorru.
found em, called quaggoths in english
Quaggoths are a race of subterranean monstrous humanoids that combine the features of humans and albino cave bears. (Indeed, they are often referred to as “deep bears.”) Primitive and simple, they are forced into slavery by other Underdark races—especially the drow.
Covered in shaggy white fur, this muscular humanoid has the head something like that of a bear. It looses a snarl and leaps forward, lashing out with its claws.
Quaggoths might lack refinement and culture, but they are cunning and dangerous foes, both brutal and fearless.
“Don’t be so surprised, Ainz-sama. This is also a skill.”
Shalltear was dripping wet from superiority as she answered his question.
“Tsk! You mean my skill is ineffective, yet you use yours freely?”
“Please don’t think of it as unfair. This is a power granted to me by Peroronchinosama. Isn’t it proof that he was greater than you, Ainz-sama?”
“—It seems that those words are your true feelings.”
It was as if his expression had vanished. His was a quiet voice devoid of emotion. "
Not yet. A few shadow demons, which might count I suppose, but they are not NPCs.
I think she's lucky she doesn't remember the battle. If she did, she'd been even further down in the dumps than just hearing about it second hand.
>nova-reich spinnoff, completely non-canon
>child ainz is given his own little dungeon in the middle of undead plains as his birthday present
>all the NPC's children serve him as lord and master
>manages to get some kinda instant-spawn so none of the NPC children die
>wacky hijinks as he learns to deal with the bizarre shit and becomes a better leader slowly
>used as an adventurer's guild's adamantium certification test
>uncle cocytus as hidden boss
>cocytus is actually hidden inside the throne
I live in hope, and I can see a shadow demon style NPC appearing, but given that I don't recall any mention of a truly incorporeal character, NPC, POP, Player, or NWer at all, It doesn't seem to be on the radar.
I can see some NPCs having the ability to go wraith like though, Solution especially I like to imagine has some interesting stealth powers.
The Pleiades maids have some very intersting builds IMO. All the level 100 NPCs are built for hard combat, front line fighters, bosses. As such, they are all able to fight as a one person army, though some (i.e. Aura and Mare) do have strong Synergy.
The Maids on the other hand are a full team, hence having the only dedicated mage, ranger and assassin builds out of the combat NPCs.
Nazaricks NPC forces are all incredibly powerful, but I suspect that if the Guild wanted to design a perfect team then it would have more mages/healers/archers/tanks.
Hello Nigel, would you like to have some lollipop?
yeah, but the fact that has been no mention of ghost/wraith like POPs/Players/Beasts indicates to me that Maru either forgot about them ore (more likely) decided against including them for some reason.
Not the point I was making.
I meant that if the Guild wanted to (hypothetically) create a team that would work together as a group out of their NPCs, then they would build the NPCs differently to how they did, where the NPCs have to function as individuals, not as a team - with the exception of the Plemaids.
NPCs meaning a character created by the SBs, like Albedo, Chair etc. Not nameless Shadow Demons that were mercs or POP.
The Floor Guardians weren't meant to work as a team, though. They were supposed to be backed up by the people on their own floors.
The Pleiades were meant to work as a team, which is why they reflect the six basic roles in a YGG party:
Yuri: Phys. Attacker/Tank
Lupu: Healer/Magic Attacker/Phys. Attacker
Narb: Magic Attacker
Shizu: Phys. Attacker/Seeker
>Entoma is the Wildcard of Pleiades
>Momonga was the Wildcard when conquering Nazarick
>Entoma = Momonga
And people believe she's the worst maid. Sigh...
Confirmed Entoma best maid.
Just a reminder that the NPC's back then when they're still in YGG are different when they are in the NW. There are things that they can and can't do. And mostly the NPC's are made by the Player's own preferences mostly for RP or just mere entertainment.
Yes I know anons.
But I said
>Nazaricks NPC forces are all incredibly powerful, but I suspect that if the Guild wanted to design a perfect team then it would have more mages/healers/archers/tanks.
I meant that if the Guild decided to build an NPC "raid party," where they were tailored to fighting together as a team, then they would have given them different roles.
I'm not disputing that given the 10 floor structure of Nazarick, splitting the guardians up into boss battles is the choice the SBs made. I'm stating that the need to make each Guardian able to fight by its lonesome is the reason the Guardians have no dedicated healers/Tanks/Mages in their ranks.
Look at the SBs. They have Tanks, Healers, Mages, Archers - a huge variation. Thats because they work as a team, not as individuals.
The Floor Guardians fight alone. That means they can't be a pure mage, healer etc.
The ceiling was fairly low, so it should have been excavated by Dwarves. Dwarves in YGGDRASIL were all manlets.
Uh...Anons, the Pleiades are a show piece. Didn't Ainz said it during his first meeting?
You guys are over thinking.
They were still meant to fight as a team, and they do have all the YGG party roles covered between them.
Things can be decorative AND functional at the same time. It's like having an elaborately decorated break-action hunting shotgun.
> Halfway through, the person holding onto the other’s hand had changed from Gondo to Aura, and naturally, their intentions for doing so had been exactly the opposite of each other.
Uhhhh, anyone explain?
>I meant that if the Guild decided to build an NPC "raid party," where they were tailored to fighting together as a team, then they would have given them different roles.
Too bad since they want to act as the villain and final boss in YGG so they won't go on the offensive but rather be the defensive one.
Aura didn't want that manly man Gondo to go. It was love at first sight.
Maru Killing of likeable characters is one of the things I love.
So many authors struggle to kill off well developed characters, and once the audience realises it takes away the stakes.
Shokugeki for exarmple
Enri's gains were quite impressive,I hear.
According to Lupusregina, Nfirea got cucked by a goblin, su~.
>not an agent of Zuranon who was just pretending the whole time
But what about manlets?
I guess the fact that having a non renewable food source is pretty damn dangerous.
Once they reach critical population mass they are going to become a swarm that constantly has to keep moving. Food source is also very dense too, so you can't pack a load of it and go on a long distance away from the mines.
Then there is always the risk of eating to deep and too greedily.
The rogue that worked with Climb and Brain to storm the 8fingers forts, and worked with them during the Demon invasion.
Was given a name and description in vol 9 just in time to get SPLATed
Do you think we will see General Enri fucking Nfirea with a strap-on in this volume, or will it appear later on?
Did Succulent have a surge of power when wearing a maid uniform? It's like he became a better fighter when his and Climb's situation got reversed.
Since Lock didnt let him cast spells he had to focus on his sword skills. And this time Brain did not come to save Climb's anal chastity so he could show off more.
Remember that Succulent's illusions dont really work against Brain and so he got knocked out easily.
Is he actually dead? Is it explicitly mentioned somewhere?
I remember Ainz calling off the Dark Young after
Gazef deathand allow all the remaining survivors to escape, including the ones they were explicitly ordered not to hurt.
He died along with all of Count Reavens elite guards.
Its stated in Vol 10 that all of the Counts forces died on the planes.
speaking of the Count, he was extremely powerful for a count. He had political standing of an earl at the very least.
Also, I didn't know they were actual beings in Lovecraft's Mythos.
I guess he would have appeared with Climb and Brain during the wall scene otherwise.
Damn it, why must all the good characters have to die horrible deaths.
Is anyone even doing the goddamn translation for PPP or are we just aimlessly complaining about it while nobody asks any of the sub groups
Unless you want to experience the pleasure of being cummed inside.
Personally I'm glad that Raeven survived, I bet he's going to stay with his family and never think of fighting Ainz again.
I mean it like when Climb was basically with no equipment to speak of and no support in the form of Lockmyer he fought the fully equipped Succu-kun and did so well that he forced him to use his ultimate "Look, I am totally dead" move.
After that you would think that the fully-equipped Climb+Lockmyer vs "naked" Succulent would end pretty swiftly, but according to the author Climb still had very high chances of dying.
Is sexbomb aura confirmed or just headcannon?
We don't know what bonus and innate skills humans get. It's probably the usual, bonuses to skill points and such.
It seems human-types aren't actually worse than heteromorphs.
Also being female gives you
a smaller hitbox
not sure if your teasing but I believe you
I wasn't saying that like it was a bad thing.
She seems to view Ainz in a father like manner though.
Though to be fair, so do Albedo and Chair, and pretty much everyone else, and that doesn't stop them.
Would BukuXMare be incest?
My theory is that humans have the most widespread cities so they can always find a trainer for job classes or NPCs to do shit for them and so on. Humans by default are accepted into human cities; which is most of them.
So the human advantage isn't mechanical but societal. Also, human characters can look pretty af.
It makes sense since Go Gin was a worse warrior than Climb despite being really strong. Still in NW you have to rush to get immortality like Fluder if you want to live long enough to be really strong.
There are 3 hetromorph worlds and 7 (?) Human/humanoid worlds.
Humies generally hunted Hetromorphs down if they came to one of their worlds, but Ainz Ooal Gown took that as a challenge and started PKing and generally shitting on Humies whenever they could
What if the civil war is to decide who will marry Momonga?
Speaking of Raeven, he is obsessed with the newbie genius general that beat a group of goblins, I think he will be revived.
It'll happen eventually, we just need to get off this shit tier continent.
>Most of the SBs adore Momonga
Adoration isn't what the word I'd use to describe the relationship between a Guild's leader and it's members.
At much they were 'internet friends'. None of them even bothered to keep contact with each other after Yggdrassil, many would have reacted quite differently had they been thrown into NW instead of Ainz.
Not to mention how horrified they'd be at the actions of Ainz and their creations.
you say that, but there's no reason to suspect they wouldn't be emotionally effected in the same way Ainz has.
They're all hetromorphs, many have negative Karma. If that translates over into the NW in the same way that Ainz' Emotions are curtailed by his "Emotionless" race.
I think one of the Theories surrounding the 8GK is that their race and Karma stats drove them to become evil.
No, you don't understand, You HAD to spend levels in update your race or you are locked with shitty disadvantaged, with humans you can spend all your levels in warrior-like professions
Its the same lose condition that Ainz is Facing. No threat to him in terms of physical force, but a huge risk of being forced to take drastically evil actions that will tear the world he wants to build apart.
It's more the concept of being literally gods walking the earth
Look if you could do LITERALLY anything because of your power, up to wiping forests off the planet and moving mountains, don't you think you'd get a little full of yourselves
>there's no reason to suspect they wouldn't be emotionally effected in the same way Ainz has.
>They're all hetromorphs, many have negative Karma. If that translates over into the NW in the same way that Ainz' Emotions are curtailed by his "Emotionless" race.
Maybe, but Ainz only has the 'emotionless' trait because of his undead status, and his evil karma doesn't really seem to affect him on his decision regarding New Worlders.
I doubt the other SB would really like how Nazarick's previously brainless NPCs have been treating humans no different than their previous forms on Earth.
Oh I'm not denying that.
If I had godlike powers then I'm pretty sure I'd make some changes to the world, and damn anyone who disagrees.
I actually wrote a short paper on the social implications of Superheroes (in the western sense) for work, this was one of the points of it.
>and his evil karma doesn't really seem to affect him on his decision regarding New Worlders
Nigga, this very vol. he talk about how he want to mindfuck people just because, how the fuck is that not evil?
I think it's the opposite. I think their version of Project Utopia was too idealistic and it broke their wills to carry it on. THey exterminate all the demihumans, advance magitech to an incredible degree, give it all to the people of the NW, and the people of the NW don't trust them and they basically wonder what the fuck they were doing.
Then they become assholes, infight, the Dragons spot their weakness and attack, and thus the Eight Greed Kings go out, not with a bang, but a whimper.
I think Superman: Red Son, Miracleman, The Authority and Watchmen are pretty good starts for this sort of thing.
IMO, Ainz is luckier than most because he has people to hand all this stuff off to. Most regular people would go insane trying to do it by themselves.
>his evil karma doesn't really seem to affect him on his decision regarding New Worlders.
Right but his undead status does. Ulbert was a baphomet which is literally >for science while causing as much damage and pain and suffering as possible.
Ainz isn't really smart in the first place. It could simply be a combination of apathy and lack of knowledge about a better solution.
Yeah, it could be possible.
Either way there'd be a civil war between SB, since not all of them would be intrinsically evil.
>The demon in question was an NPC in YGGDRASIL, called Mephistopheles. He was a character who was famous for spouting tsundere lines to good-aligned beings. He looked fearsome but was surprisingly friendly and logical, and he gave out missions that ranged from rewarding to high-level, which made him almost as popular as the Dark Young.
tsundere male demon who likes good align people
never knew I wanted this.
>It seems human-types aren't actually worse than heteromorphs.
In YGG in pure stats it was heteromorphs > Demi humans > humanoids. Heteromorphs get weaknesses to counter the high stats and humanoids can have a large variety of class levels(Without gaining more racial weaknesses), demi humans are in between.
>Ainz nodded. The Dwarf did not know Aura’s power, so it was quite admirable for him to take this mature attitude with her. However, Ainz felt that Gondo’s caution was not enough. He should have taken various possibilities into consideration before advising her.
Papa Bones critisizing other peoples parenting, cute!
>“Fear not… Gondo.”
Ainz is a pick related, cute!
>“No, I am a natural-born undead creature… although I don’t know if that’s the right term to use. --Well, there’s no need to be afraid. Human, Dwarves and Elves all have good and bad members of their species, right? Similarly, there are undead who hate the living, and those who seek friendly relations with them. Naturally, I belong to the latter group.”
>“But, but friendly undead, that’s about as unthinkable as compassionate demons…”
Fockin racism against skellies! We need to put a stop to that!
I can understand not encountering them through fantasy but those names should be common knowledge to anyone who bothered to get a senior high education.
Not really, to undead their life-hating personality is incredibly deep-rooted to the point expecting different is like expecting a ten foot dwarf. It's literally part of their portfolio.
Cocytus comes from Greek mythology while Mephistopheles comes from Faust.
I highly recommend you read Gargantua because it's hilarious, Faust because you're not ten years old, you're twelve, and Greek Mythology in general because you're not an idiot you're only an imbecile.
To be fair, it really depends from which country you come from.
I never ever hear about Mephistopheles, Cocytus, Demiurgos or anything but the most well-known mythological beings and places because no one gives a fuck about mythology in my country.
I just learnt about them because, again, every single fucking fantasy media uses those names. And also because I love mythology and learnt about it by myself.
Wel, to be fair my country is kind of shitty so I shouldn't use it as an example.
If I didn't love reading and read all that shit out of my own accord I probably wouldn't even know who the fuck is Faust.
D-did Gondo... notice that Aura is a girl? Or maybe because the high pitch voice, he only thought she (he) was a kid without thinking about the gender?
Cute dwarf trying to traffic dark elfs for his own personal gains. That's the reason why he acted so calm after a few seconds.
But how did you miss the point so badly, most of the book describes Dorian's bullshit in not-very-praising tones and progressively makes his picture unrecognizably shit and in the end he turns into a fucking disgusting monster after taking the sins recorded upon himself, how do you think Dorain was a good idea?
>oh I can do anything just pay for it in the end
I wasn't trying to emulate Dorian, I just thought that pretty much everything that Lord Henry said made sense.
Of course, back then I realized that his bullshit philosophy was the main reason Dorian went to shit.
Well everything Lord Henry says kind of does make sense. He's not actually wrong, no opinion or world philosophy is for the most part. The question is, where do you end up with that philosophy? I'm not going to go full /lit/ but the book is as much a comment on the fact that Henry ISN'T wrong even after all that as a comment on where this not-technically-wrong path will take you.
>Faust which is Picture of Dorian Grey or Tale of Two Cities tier priority.
You seem to forget that other people in this Cambodian basket-weaving picture forum might not share the same culture/country.
You might think that someone who doesn't know of those books is ignorant, but that would only apply to people from your country (or related cultural countries like the anglophones) who had the same educational background in regards to literary works.
I'm pretty sure someone from China or Chile or Czech Republic have all studied different book when growing up that are important for their respective cultures that you didn't even knew existed. Likewise they probably have no clue who the author of the Picture of Dorian Grey was.
Same thing with not knowing Faust.
Same thing as you having to probably look up random Japanese mythological stuff and authors that you see pop up in Japanese culture related things.
I AM in China. They are still top priority for world literature up there with Nibelungenlied, the Sophcles, The Thousand and One Nights, Journey to the West, Don Quixote, and The Brothers Karamazov. I'm sure you'll agree that these guys are giants no matter where you go.
...or maybe I'm just too well read for my own good. Are these guys seriously rare outside their home countries? These are world tier classics, the only question is if you can get a decent translation or can read the originals.
Meeting Ainz after hearing this subordinates hype him so much must be kind of underwhelming.
Like, everyone from Nazarick talks about him as if he was some uber-perfect keikaku master physical god whose wisdom is infinite and his might absolute and then you go and meet the dude and he is really chill and humble.
>they're pretty useful for diplomatic formalities such as introduction and such.
i.e. not bodyguards, but low level diplomats that facilitate the meetings and exchanges of the bigwigs.
In this case, it would things like making sure that notables got the right amount of contact time, making sure the various groups within the Dwarven realm didn't end up springing any of their internal problems on Ainz and basically keeping the whole thing in motion, so that Ainz doesn't have to waste his time.
Yuri and Lupu would both be fine, Yuri especially.
You're forgetting this is a world where a hamster has the appearance of a wise and noble being.
His chillness would only come as calculating and with purpose and his humility as a way to bring his enemies under his arms or make them lower their guard.
I agree they are all top tier world literature. Faust is top 50 of the entire western canon.
Now think about how many people actually read classics that are not forced on them in school. Hint: Not many.
So you learnt about all of those in school? Are you from Hong Kong?
In basic school we've never studied any of those. Only The Thousand and One Nights and Don Quixote have maybe been mentioned in passing.
Still, I know those works you've listed (except Nibelungenlied and the Sophcles), but through diverse media and curiosity rather than basic schooling.
Actually we do know. Humas are able to have more job levels and dont have a real weakness to them.
Hetromorphic do have race levels, with boni and mali but therefore cant have the same amount of job levels a human can do.
BUT Hetromorpic races and their innate pros/cons can make them very powerfull if used correctly. Take bukubukachagama she is a slime and uses the innate resistance of slimes against pysical attack to combine them with a tank spec to reach high level of defenses.
Hero-Hero revolves his entire build on his ability to corrode enemies gear.
But again if you know the weakness of a hetromorphic you can have a big advantage against him. Lets say a overlord doesnt has access to gih end equipment and has a hard time countering his weakness to fire...he would be toast fast.
Well,at least Gondo accepted Ainz pretty fast if you compare it to other humans. I hope Ainz brought some good beers to smooth things over. Gondo is destined to meet Ainz. Ainz has a whole fault of rare minerals and weopons that could inspire the rune smith. Is chapter 2 gonna end tomorrow?
