What does it have to do with being new? It's just that I never thought about that until Dragon Team lagged so much that I had to watch the first sub that I found (KamiFS) and they called him Zamas. Guys, hear me out but I just came up with a theory: would they really have brought back Ginyu in the show (when he wasn't in the movie) for just no reason at all?

So Zamasu obviously is about to get immortality, then have Gowasu lend him the earring again to "study" those dinosaur people things. Zamasu kills him to sieze Supreme Kai status in his universe by force, and now needs a god of destruction...

When Zamasu went to the guy who knows everything (forget his name) to ask for "everything about the dragonballs," he also learned the history about the earth and namek balls... including Frieza and the Ginyu Force's quest to gather them on Namek. Zamasu learns about Ginyu being able to swap bodies. He then finds a way to go back in time to when Frieza was revived, and allows Ginyu to swap bodies with Goku. This then creates an alternate timeline in which Frieza won or Vegeta beat him etc. Ginyu now in Goku-body is granetd god of destruction status by Zamasu, giving him the god-ki.
