How come this isn't more popular? I thought it was pretty good.
Also, season 2 hype
>How come this isn't more popular?
Because the CG was really ugly, and it got kind of boring on the back third.
I liked it a lot though. It was fun.
It was popular when it aired, IIRC. S2 will probably get a lot of attention, too, at first, and ongoing, if it delivers.
Nice, I wanted to have a WebM of that scene for a while. Thanks.
I felt so bad for the
kidnapped angel "mother". Everyone else probably just forgot about her, due to her being a side character. So cruel, so sad. ;___;
Also, that scene was great: >>145745045
What would an S2
even be able to be about? Haven't they exhausted the powerlevels hard by killing off half of heaven and unleashing Bahamut once already?
You do know they're actually making S2, don't you?
It's about this qt
That's Princess Kaisar, to you.
Does this look like the face of a liar?
Gotta respect Cygames. Privately funding an extremely expensive anime and giving the staff almost complete creative freedon is in itself almost unthinkable in this industry. But even after having presumably lukewarm returns (judging from the low BD sales and the fact that the game seems to be on it's way out), instead of packing up and betting on a more conventional adaptation, they instead laser-locked on the problems (the series structure, which simultaneously made the fun adventure-y episodes too few and the main storyline too rushed) and fixed those (by making it 2 cour and changing the writer, plus letting her write every episode) whithout punishing everybody else who did a great job.
And it's probably costing them even more than before.
>Also, season 2 hype
There's no hype to be had yet. The only thing we've seen so far was the image and the PV and those are old as shit. Just need to wait for more information before the hype can begin.
>Because Favaro was unbearable and nearly ruined the entire show
I was hoping that because of Favaro seemingly being sidelined in the character lineup, it might indicate that he has interests in getting her back that pits him against the new mc + friends. Kaiser vs Favaro again.
But some of the new stills from concept art or manga shows Favaro without a tail so chances feel even more slim.
Worse I feel is if the new girl is somehow Amira's quasi-reincarnation "virgin soul".
I remember the threads on /a/ when it first aired, it was pretty popular back then. I guess not many people are talking about now since they've either forgotten about it or ran out of things to talk about. There'll be a lot of discussion once season 2 is out though. Anybody know when it'll be out, or if a release date was even announced yet?
I hope Gawain is in it, he was my favorite. This show needs best boy. Fuck.
I sort of miss the game. It was boring trash but I made a lot of good friends and the card art was top tier, seeing this thread really hit me with nostalgia. Anybody else here played the game? Good times man, goooood times.
Like others have said, when the anime was focusing on prophesies and the end of the world, it was losing most of its charm. I don't want to throw around the buzzword "generic", but it just didn't interest me.
Season 2 looks fun though.
I hope she gets NTRd by Luci. Azazel has to win the Lucibowl or I riot.
A reminder that the midquel manga goes up on 23th.
It caught me off at first since it was so unusual for an MC design, but I ended up loving him. For one he wasn't some spineless brown/black haired nip that seems to be the MC of majority of anime these days. Even though he's not part of the main cast for S2, I can't wait to see him again.
Fava is in general like Yoshino's side characters but made MC.
Wasn't there like a moe-moe version of Bahadur that looked more in line with the actual game that was more of a spinoff but everybody thought was an S2?
And it got cancelled or something
They didn't include the Protagonist/Player (Who is a silent Knight according to card quotes) from the game and it would have become yuri shit.
So it got put on hiatus.
I've been meaning to watch this since Cosmo is apparently a main character
>though the series felt pretty generic when they moved out of NotSpain
Generic would entail we get shitton of series with plots, settings and tropes in the same venue. Meanwhile - we don't. We hardly even get decent fantasy, let alone non isekai high fantasy. Why won't you learn the definitions of the words you're using?
I think most of the characters were pretty likeable. Favaro and Kaisar both profitted from their dynamic with each other and Rita's dynamic with Kaisar was fun too.
Rather than being fun of their own they are fun because they interact with each other. That's what really makes a likeable cast for me
Still miles ahead of the shit the industry puts out every season. You fags sure are picky.
>as far as fantasy goes
Yeah, exactly. As far as a very narrow, rarely utilised genre rules by very strict set of tropes. Fantasy tends to be generic by definition, and having one executed as well as Bahamut, it's a damn fine rarity.
>surrogate daughter and dad
I never picked this up throughout the entire series. While their "romance" kind of came out of nowhere I thought it was cute and that there was nothing wrong with it.
For some reason people still think Amira is a five year old which is why they didn't like that kiss. But that story was made up by the villain, she's really a clone of her "mother".
The series was fun, but I think to have an even bigger fanbase it would need to have been driven by an annoying ubermensch, instead of a ragtag team of goofs. It wouldn't have been fun anymore.
S2 can't come soon enough.
These character designs were pretty good.
>But that story was made up by the villain, she's really a clone of her "mother".
Doesn't being a clone makes her even less than that? They didn't copy her mother's mind or experience. At the start of her existance Amira was literally a newborn. I won't mind it if they mature her up a bit, but as of now she's way too childish to have any kind of relationship.
The way they handled that was weird. They didn't really explain it too well. She acted like a child the entire series, but at the end after she got absorbed into Bahamut she acted mature compared to before. I guess by that point, she knew what she was. Still a cute scene though.
Wish she wore shorts instead of that skirt. Hate to see MAPPA bending their backs to appease greasy otakus and dressing her up like a generic female avatar. They even flipped her skirt in the visual to show off her panties, disgusting.
/tg/'s armor whining threads are that way
It was only ridiculous because she was corrupted. Her normal armor was fine.
>only the angels and demons were sluts
Sluts, the lot of them.
It's about character design not armour per se. Just look at her design and compare with Amira, cute and innovative but not completely revealing. This chick looks too naked to be doing her bounty hunting shit in a series that tries to establish somewhat realistic attitude in that area.
No, fuck you, you won't sell me this as good armor.
You're not very good at this, are you?
What's the problem with this kind of armor? Looks fine to me.
I feel like they kind of fucked up with Amira's demonform. Like, it was OP as fuck, but she never used it. Should have had some reason for her either not being able to use it, or her not wanting to use it.
>Should have had some reason for her either not being able to use it, or her not wanting to use it.
If I remember correctly demons on Gregor fucked her up so she couldn't use it. Afterwards she was either shitfaced or didn't need it.
Here's a better quality scan of that concept art. And yeah, I agree with you. It's a shame she only used it once.
I suppose after the orange afro protag anything else would have been seen as trying too hard
>against first ep monster
>giant crab OHKO
Thereafter kidnapped -> drunk for the sake of Azazel showdown for just the involved parties -> against BB and Martinet who promised her her mom so attacking would be against the objective.
Yeah I think she didn't need it.
>unleashing bahamut once already
We Proto-Bahamut now.
The entire art book is pretty neat. I really liked the character designs and backgrounds. Hopefully we see more of the world in S2.
No, fuck you, if you're gonna do armor do it right, I'd take fucking slutwear over this because at least slutwear doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out, the original Jeanne design was more than fine, but nooo, we have to be special fucking snowflakes and change a perfectly fine design because we got something to prove.
>the original Jeanne design
This is the original Jeanne design from her original card. All of the slutty designs come from the game, decent ones come from MAPPA. Now MAPPA is stepping down to RoB levels because otaku outrage at lack of waifus in the first season. Face it, Nina's design is a step down from Amira's in every way, it is a fact.
>original design not slutty
>tumblr hardly even knows about a poc with a prosthetic leg and his equally disabled bro-admirer
I didn't watch this show out of pure autism. I loved Amira's design so much that I didn't like the fact that she was being paired with someone like Favaro, and pretty much gave up on the idea of even watching it after
the kiss. But then I watched some clips and am starting to change my mind.
Is he sorta like mugen?
