Here, most of these scenes/friendships would not work so much because of how little the Lancers ever interacted during Synchro and literally not once in XYZ to ever give the expression that this is a team that would care about each other. Back in the Battle Royale, we saw Yuya going full berserk not only after watching innocent duelist get carded, Sora carding a person a person without giving a damn, and witnessing a couple of people that accompanied him(Michio and Tempei). All of those problems alone prevents the kind of events in this recent arc from having any kind of meaning.

That's not how it works. Popular things aren't let go. In Gundam the UC destroys everything in popularity and that started in 1979. It gets the most merchandise because that is what sells. Konami definitely isn't going to let it go either. It makes them money. I like old decks getting new cards. It makes them viable and more fun. Too many cards were made before the game got standardized. It's nice to see something as old as Blue-Eyes getting support that makes it viable today. Same with Black Magician. I don't really care for most of the Arc-V character decks. D/D/D, Moonlights, Fluffals and Raid Raptors are cool. But Super Heavy Samurai, Abyss Actors, Ninjas, C/C/C and a shitload of other decks don't mesh with me. I'm even glad shit like Gem Knights recently got support.

After reading the past threads, I guess it's time to confirm that Arc V was never popular except for Shun's character and so couldn't stand on it's feet alone.

The nostalgia characters and DSOD shilling was basically a brilliant marketing decision since the nips don't particularly give a fuck about Arc V, even when it was good.

The production of the DSOD movie also deteriorated any support Arc V could of received later on.

The shortest OP so far was Burn at 19 episodes. That's like 5 months. If it starts in October and we assume it's as long as Burn it will end in March which is when the show is ending anyways.
