ITT: Series that come first into your mind when you think of "otaku pandering garbage of the worst kind."
>implying the koimonogatari arc isn't the greatest piece of anime of the 21st century
You said it OP. Only low IQ weebs could be able to enjoy trash like pornogatari. The worst part is that they believe it's actually deep.
>this is what pornogatari faggots actually believe
No wonder your kind is considered to be the fucking worst fanbase on /a/. Kill yourself with your shit taste.
Monogatari is the fucking worst honestly. It set a bad example for the industry. Shaft is a fucking shitty studio who can't even keep characters on model most of the time and they're also lazy fucks. They dare to charge high prizes for their shitty BDs and the stupid otakus keep buying them. At least the fad is finally fading in japan and more people are starting to realize just how shallow and trashy Monogatari actually is. Even the fucking pokemon TV series has better animation than Monogatari.
>pokemon better animation than monogatari
I'd just like to remind you that "otaku pandering anime" literally means "anime intended to satisfy people who are into anime" and that /a/ has somehow decided that this is a bad thing.
He's a soulless husk and there are worse but SAO is the avatar of evil and shitty self-indulgent writing. The other harem shit is either hated by normalfags or have less plot holes so they are liked.
>unironically liking anything SAO related
>the fucking worst fanbase on /a/
To be honest they're a pretty standard waifuwar-driven fanbase that, compared to a lot of other (but not all) popular series stays relatively self-contained within their own threads. Not the worst, not the best either. Hell I see more threads like this than actual Monogatari threads these days even.
I've gotta assume that you're from somewhere else outside of /a/ to be even saying this since apparantly the fanbase is genuinely terrible elsewhere. You're from either reddit, tumblr or MAL I guess since those are the only other english-speaking communities mentioned on here I think.
Monogatari is cancer because it's a harem that combines moe with pseudo intellectual drivel that avant teens love. So its fanbase is basically moeshitters and deepfags colliding into one big fat turd.
I tried watching this, it's really boring.
Really any LN trash that includes some lazy ass genre savvy characters, particularly the protagonist. It doesn't matter whether they're written as a loser hikiNEET or a competent individual, if they are aware of common otaku tropes then it's otaku pandering. It's gotten so stale that even shitty wish fulfillment that takes itself seriously is preferred over this meta bullshit.
Big part of it is lack of creativity.
Today your basic LN or VN writter is just some neet trying pay bills and support there video game habits it's an incestuous industry.
it would be refreshing if creatives today explored literature from past fictional works
>MC is a giant fuckup
>does shit to make people constantly hate him
>reflects neet life unglamorously with other characters pointing out what a shit he is
pandering for who?
How is it not? It's about a girl who basically dreams and wishes that she were in an anime and surrounded by anime tropes, while at the same time actually being in an anime
Did you fucking watch it?
It plays it "classy" compared to other moeshit, with pantyshots and titgrabs every other minute
I'm not saying it's intended for your grandfather, but it's as tame and normal as moe can get
Are you implying that Re:Zero isn't otaku pandering trash? Just because there's muh suffering it doesn't mean otakus won't dig it. It's LN garbage with a fucking NEET as a MC for fuck's sake.
>it would be refreshing if creatives today explored literature from past fictional works
>A.E. Van Vogt
Are you being ironic on purpose, or are you unaware of the manga/anime Narue no Sekai that is literally named after a Van Vogt book?
This fucking shit
I'd rather have otaku pandering moeshit than 2deep4me shit that /a/ for some reason adores like NGE, Texhnolyze and Serial Experiments Lain
Visual Novel adaptations and haremshit, but specially battle harems. Stuff like highschool DxD or any other anime with dumb fanservice. Idolshit is also bad and recently this Isekai cancer that is polluting Japan. Probably the worst fad this industry has sprouted in recent times.
"Otaku-pandering" would be a good thing if otakus weren't disgusting subhumans.
As we've said before, up until about Evangelion, anime was made for "normalfags", mostly under age 24. People who tried to do their best in school and had plans for college, getting a steady job, finding a wife/husband, and starting a family; not hikki/NEETs who lived in piles of merch and accumulated ramen boxes. Yes, the otaku market existed back in the day, but the only things that specifically catered to them were ultra-niche OAV's. Until about 1995, anime studios and producers didn't cater to the idol-stabbers.
So are you guys really proud of letting those wastes of oxygen determine the future of the anime industry?
This is a different brand of trash than all the other stuff you mentioned. While otaku pandering garbage comes in many different flavors (anything from high school SoL to fantasy to sci-fi to supernatural), idolshit is all the same.
It reflects that he has explored past literature and was inspired by it, which seems to be what that anon was asking for. I mean, unless you think that the mangaka just chose a random lesser-known foreign sci-fi book from the 40s without having read it, but that seems unlikely.
>defending bait threads
(You) first >>>/v/edditor.
>"otaku pandering garbage of the worst kind."
>Posts a promo poster of the series that has by far and wide the most exposition via info-dumping and (for the most part) very scant fanservice compared to the other seasons
>it would be refreshing if creatives today explored literature from past fictional works
>People who tried to do their best in school and had plans for college, getting a steady job, finding a wife/husband, and starting a family
Isn't that basically what monogatari is about? Araragi is trying to get into college and live a normalfag life. He's a normalfag in Hana.
Just go to Japan and kill the author.
None of you people have balls. The world would be a better place if authors similar to the ones who write Eragon, Twilight, and SAO were brutally murdered and their corpses hung on their houses
Those pandering shows have less plot holes or are the dropped by 99% percent of everyone so hatred can't be aimed at it unless you're a hyper autist.
No one truly cares about 5th rate dropped in 10 minute trash like Sacred Seven, Asterisk, Active Raid, or Arslan unless you're an autist who needs a scapegoat to make a 6 hour long rant on why lazy writing is problematic
Everyone hates SAO. Exterminating the author would be righteous and just since no one intelligent likes this SAO. Even the casual plebs trying to pretend they have great taste hate SAO; murdering the author or any of the series unironic fans is just.
>liking pandering moe over 2deep moe
If everyone hates SAO then violent death towards the author and any remaining unironic fans is absolute justice.
Exterminating hack writers is progress for the human race. The world would be a better place with a violently dismembered and skullfiucked corpse of George Lucas, J.J. Abrams, or Reki Kawahara.
SAO is for underage kids, not otaku
Otaku pandering is usually more sexual, like sora no otoshimono/ ah my goddess. Usually MC is less of a badass and more of a lost soul who needs a supernatual harem to save him. Ken Akamatsu stuff probably fits this too.
>Implying the almost rape, Suguha's tittays, and Sinon's fatass weren't otaku pandering
>Implying nips don't like OP MCs like Kirito and Tatsuya since Mahouka and SAO sell like gangbusters
>Kirito still tops Newtype
SAO is otaku as fuck
Konosuba and re:Zero are FoTM shit. One is mediocre one-note comedy and one is the Log Horizon to Erased's SAO. People tolerate them because they aren't openly self-indulgent and the plot/world doesn't completely bend to MC-kun.
All you have to do to get plebs who pretend they have good taste is have a gimmick that doesn't devolve catastrophically; only stagnate like One Piece post time jump.
Too bad most non-SAO Isekai end up boring at worst rather than boring then the worst form of self-indulgence so the people pretending they have taste will tolerate them.
And plenty of well written, likable girls aren't waifu bait. The difference is that Rem specifically is unconditionally accepting of all your fuckups, while the rest aren't.
Not implying: I'm saying it. Netoge last season, Dagashi Kashi before that, picking up girls in a dungeon... All nice-guy betas. Sometimes otaku themselves or "aspiring mangaka" etc. Badass MCs are for teens.
All exclusively used to make bad guys appear bad. Ergo, sex = bad. Kirito himself is mostly uninterested. The stuff with Asuna is fairly innocent romance (they even have a daughter).
Random ass shots aren't "sexual situations"; the characters don't acknowledge it so the (younger) viewer doesn't have to feel awkward.
So does pokemon. Not aimed at otaku
>So does pokemon. Not aimed at otaku
Are you retarded? Pokemon is a 20 year old multimillionaire franchise so of course it has lots of porn. How the fuck are you even making that comparison?
>Netoge last season, Dagashi Kashi before that, picking up girls in a dungeon
What? None of those were all that popular outside of doujinshi-fuel, and their MCs certainly weren't popular. It's like you just listed three random anime from the last two years involving beta MCs and thought that was somehow an argument.
There's nothing wrong with otaku pandering. They are what keeps the industry alive. Go back to /v/ or /tv/ circlejerk about Cowboy Bebop, you fucking normalshit cunts.
OP, you forgot your
> pic unrelated
You'd have a case if you were talking about Nise, that was just insulting
But it does? Of the last half decade's isekai - Log Horizon, Ixion Saga, Mondaiji, Overlord, and KonoSuba have all had positive reception on /a/, Re:Zero currently has shitposting and falseflagging every which way from both sides, Grimgar had average to mediocre reception, and NGNL is the only one that's had a solidly negative overall response. /a/ shits on the thousands of isekai WNs/LNs that get made, but the handful of isekai anime coming out generally get decent responses.
Monogatari isn't "deep" and nobody ever says it is. That's a meme strawman. You retards just misinterpret the characters and dialogue having some substance to it as "trying to be deep" because you're retarded.
This shit right here. It's kyoani saying "Hey, lets make a fucking generic battle harem, no need to try anything actually good. We're kyoani people will love the shit out of it, even if they hate other battle harems, the otaku will come up with some reasons as to why ours is 'different', they shall eat our shit and thank us for it!"
And you know? They were fucking right
How is that pandering? Even if you did see it at Anime Expo, it boggles my mind it you came to the conclusion it panders to weebs. Maybe art/cinematography fags but not otaku.
Literally no one will give you props for having more "mature and intellectual" taste in anime. That just sounds so fucking stupid, it's got to be the most retarded reasoning for limiting your enjoyment ever.
If other people are gonna judge your intelligence by anything, it would probably be your job.
> 2D erotica is the only possible form of entertainment in anime
> Enjoying a well written and themed fiction is stupid
You are a caricatural example of the reasons that make this medium and its fandom always so disrespected.
If anime and porn are the only source of your sexual arousal, you should really reconsider your life.
The point I was trying to make is that there's no merit in exclusively enjoying the well written stuff. If that is your personal taste, so be it.
I like anime on both sides of the spectrum. Sometimes I want to watch something thought provoking, other times I want to shut my brain off. What's wrong with enjoying the simpler stuff?
If someone's going to be all condescending to me for liking both, I'll punch them in the face.
All of my friends know that i like anime,
but damn id kill myself if they found out i like monogatari
K-ON actually caused a ''light music club" boom in Japan's high school. Also girls make up quite a large part of K-ON's fanbase.
Haruhi and Lucky Star on the other hand is definitely otaku-pandering.
>Also girls make up quite a large part of K-ON's fanbase.
You can say the same thing about pretty much every popular series. Haruhi and Bakemonogatari also have a plenty of fangirls.
"Every" is only a slight exaggeration these days.
>unironically not being neutral towards Kirito
There's nothing to feel.
Oreimo is the physical embodiment of normalfag jimmy rustling. People expected a cute slightly higher budget romcom about "otaku" things then the incest became real and it lives in infamy like SAO but its unironic fans are incestfags rather than western schoolkids and simple-minded nips
NO, that isn't the point. The anime sold well because it was anime otaku pandering, literally. Having cute characters caring about otaku hobbies is not just clear pandering but also really bad and simple one. Regardless of how the story ended the series still open the door for imitators that would basically play with the same premise with otaku culture at the center of the plot, with otakus or people invested in the culture (usually atractive girls as well) and then develop a retarded meta narrative around it.
But since it was a financial success then more and more started to copy this "style" of pandering where now you see it everywhere. Shit is hilarious and horrible at the same time.
> The series 99% of the people drop because of dumb episode 1-4 plot twists
Okay, but what does that have to do with isekai? I can't think of a single post-2010 isekai that fits that description.
>literally everything with cute girls is otaku-pandering, even if it's a shoujo manga from a magazine that targets literal elementary schoolers
>literally everything with cute guys is fujo-pandering, even if it's a fucking reverse harem
We have officially reached the buzzword tipping point where these words mean absolutely nothing anymore.
> Unironically using "literally"
12-sai is the only shoujo labelled as moe. Maybe you stopped reading there since It's the first one on the list. Other titles with non-moeshit cute girls weren't labelled as such.
Sadly, It's quite accurate I think.
