I don't think this is true, and the reason is because when you buy an older (2010) new sealed figure from one of these sites, for example solarisjapan, the figure is not sticky at all and has no defects. So explain to me how a 6 year old sealed figure got to me in mint condition? It only has to do with temps. Being sealed does absolutely nothing harmful to the figures.

I bought a second hand figure that was labeled as kept in storage. Figure condition was fine but it was a little sticky and the paint did kind of sweat and smudged onto my white gloves I used to handle my figures.
