Her immature "conceited" attitude is just part of her chuuni persona, you can see her home life to realize she's been a good older sister her whole life. I won't deny her opening up and ultimately being rejected by Kyousuke isn't sad, but that's not a character flaw.

Was anyone else a little disappointed with the way girls were confessing their loves to Kyousuke towards the end?

I could see Ruri confessing because Kyousuke really took her under his wing when she got to his HS, and she appreciated that. He also helped her meet Kirino, who became her best friend. I could see love flowing from that relationship, but all the other ones not so much.

Ayase and Kyousuke never really got along, and Ayase legitimately did have reasons to dislike him for most of the show. Her confession was somewhat understandable, but it seemed forced. Same with Kanako, she never really did anythign with him the whole show and then right at the end she confesses. That was probably the weakest, and most unlikely of all. She also didn't take rejection very hard which was weird.

Manami's confession also seemed forced. While she probably did actually love Kyousuke, it was done at a time when it seemed more like a desperate attempt to break up him and Kirino, which just felt awkward.

Ruri was pretty obvious and fine. Ayase I think was fine too, she deluded herself into hating him for corrupting Kirino but she went back to him to ask for help pretty often and when she took care of him in the apartment arc she came to eventually realising she was only lying to herself and that she actually likes him. Kyousuke helping her with her stalker was a pretty big thing in their relationship, the anime conveniently cut that.

I agree with Kanako's confession being stupid, the given reason was literally offscreen time, the only time there was anything resembling her showing actual affection was in volume 10 and that volume was harem heavy for no real reason. Manami's confession was not forced at all,
it was obvious that she loved him all this time but she just never had any chance. You're right that is was a desperate and awkward attempt but it certainly wasn't forced from the characters perspective.

Said about Kirino giving up on Kyousuke, she was trying, to an extent, to get away from Kyousuke and give up her feelings for him. That's why she went to America and why she wanted to travel after HS.

She would run away and try something new, but then Kyousuke would kind of drag her back to him. I wonder if that would cause any tension later on in her life. I guess this is going back to whether or not the two can deal with the societal consequences of being lovers and siblings. (though honestly, if they just moved away to America or Europe or something and never told anyone they were siblings I doubt anyone would suspect it or anything).

Basically, Kirino did try and grow up, since the romantic love she felt for her brother began when she was very young. In a way, Kyousuke is fighting and working to prevent her from possibly getting over him and moving on to a more adult world view. I'm worried that Kirino might realize that one day and sort of have a revelation that Kyousuke was holding her back mentally as well as physically by pushing that relationship.

Of course it could go the other way and Kirino might love him more because he did just that, fulfil her childhood dream.

But Kyousuke was doing exactly everything she has wanted and wished for for the past 10 years. He was suddenly fixing himself in almost every way and she couldn't understand why, on top of facing the social stigma of incest if she truly did fall in love with him. Can you seriously not see how that would cause someone to lash out? At that point, it might even be easier for her to just make Kyousuke say "fuck this, I'm done" and leave, so she can finally put the whole thing to rest, but he wouldn't give up on her, ever no matter how unreasonable she acted - which incidentally would just make her fall in love even harder, for obvious reasons.

Hardly. you listed her qualities yourself earlier in the beginning when you called her a character with no flaws. Well actually, you listed her professions but those reflect on her qualities.

She works hard and pushes herself to do her best and succeed in a myriad of subject areas while keeping herself attractive and fashionable enough to model - that last bit might sound shallow, but it's not her appearance that makes that so admirable to me, it's the fact that accomplishing that is a more time consuming and difficult task than one think it is. Yet despite that, she's still a hard worker and doesn't default to excuses or give up on anything, otherwise she wouldn't be the type of person that could get top marks and also keep her body trained and fit. To someone like me, posting on a shitty anonymous imageboard, she reminds me that I should probably use my time in a productive way and make all those little dreams I have come true. Except I will feel compelled to defend her qualities, so here I am.

But of course, a lot of characters in anime are great in that kind of way. So what makes her special? It's her flaws I mentioned earlier. I genuinely believe that she has a very believable reason to be a tsundere. It's not just "oh no im embarassed," part of her is actually trying to push Kyousuke away. She was her inspiration to be the great person she is, as evidenced by that message she recorded to herself, and he just gave it all up for no apparent reason and, from her viewpoint, basically abandoned her.
