I got lucky and found a seeder on the first episode of DMF so I was able to watch it. While the new protagonists seem nice and I loved seeing MARs and Callings three years later, I have some mixed feelings about the sheer necessity of keeping it in the same continuity since I thought Aurora Dream wrapped up perfectly. I'll avoid passing judgment until I can watch the whole thing in a million years after the last cour gets subbed and someone creates a batch though.

I, like many of you, suffer from problems. My problems don't involve any of your implausible ones, but mine are worth voicing to you in hope of getting some advice. Anyways, I began to watch Aikatsu about four years ago, and as I dove deeper and deeper into the series, the more and more I fapped to lewds of it. I continued to do so until the last episode. Then I watched the series again...and again... and again... I found myself checking out Ichigo every on-screen moment she had. I began to stop going to my regular sites just to look at lewds of one person: Ichigo. I eventually had 1000s of pictures and some doujins of Ichigo. I began to spend what others called absurd amounts of money on merchandise, and my apartment is coated with Ichigo everywhere. I've shut myself off from family and friends and felt an urge to just snuggle with my Ichigo dolls. Ichigo is all I need. She probably wouldn't like the way my family is or how my friends behave. I'm in love with Ichigo. I keep praying that she'll come to see me one day and decide to live with me. I have nothing left to live for but Ichigo. It's really good, enough similarities with Aikatsu that everything that made Aikatsu so good is still there, with enough differences to make it feel fresh. If I were to compare it to Aikatsu seasons I'd say its better than 2-4 but still has a long way to go to be as good as 1, though there's plenty of time left for that to change.

I was only sent a scan of the interview with the director on the bottom right, but the rest of the text only seems to be overviews of what happened so far.
Important stuff I got out of it:
>When they decided on having male characters in Aikatsu Stars!, they had to figure out how Yume would come into contact with them. Off-campus and childhood friend characters would've been difficult, so they created a male division for Yotsuboshi Academy.
The male division was quite literally an afterthought.
>Subaru is slowly falling for (惹かれる) Yume, but Yume is fixated on (ゾッコン) Hime, so she hasn't noticed his feelings at all. Yume herself doesn't quite understand (romantic) love yet. They don't want to turn the series into a love story, so despite all the boys hovering around, Yume takes no notice of them. As for Subaru "falling for" her, we'll have to watch to find out whether his feelings are that of an idol senpai, or a guy.
